A LUV-ly Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for entering. Winner will be announced soon.

I pray about my blog.

Sounds silly or even crazy (especially considering some of things I do here), but it is what it is.

I pray that I will be effective.

I pray that I will make a difference.

I pray that God will use my words to impact someone's life.

And so, when the Luvs Diaper people contacted me about sharing $5 off coupons with my readers and possibly a giveaway, I nearly deleted it.

Mainly because we are out of the diaper stage. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. I like to write from my own experiences and because we still love The Wipe and use them for unintended purposes, (I mopped the floor with one on the bottom of my foot yesterday) I decided to fire back an email.

I spent a few minutes reminiscing about our first diaper days when I would scrounge Ebay for diaper coupons. I remember the place in our budget marked diapers and how I tried to squeeze every penny out of that column.

I remember a friend passing along a megapack of diapers her baby had outgrown and I'll never forget how something so insignificant made such a huge difference in our month.

And so, I asked Luvs for something significant for someone special.

Because I pray about my blog.

I pray that I will be effective.

I pray that I will make a difference in someone's life.

Today, with the help of  Luvs and their "Take a Stand" campaign, I am giving away a SIX MONTH SUPPLY of their fine diapering products, plus a cool diaper bag ($250.00 value) on my blog.

I know this giveaway won't apply to everyone. But will you take a minute and think of someone who needs this? Please leave their name or your relationship (for their privacy) in the comment as your entry.

This giveaway will close on Tuesday, the day the $5.00 Luvs coupons will be available. It's a limited supply, so mark your calendars.

Y'all have a great weekend! And don't forget to remember 9/11
*Please understand that I am not receiving anything for hosting this giveaway

I would LOVE to win this prize for my friend Tiffany. Her family is in Ethiopia right now adopting their son and daughter (kids #8 & #9 in their family). Tiffany is one of the most selfless people I have ever had the chance to meet.

We met several years ago (we were both foster parents) when it was just her, her hubby and her three bio kids. Since then (counting the ones that will be home this weekend) she has become mommy to six additional babies (three of which have downs syndrome).

Tiffany would be a great recipient of this great prize as now she will have four in diapers!

Thanks! MyLinda

It would be awesome if my daughter could win this. She is a single mom who recently lost her job. Dead beat dad isn't paying child support. She is at a point where she can no longer afford diapers which means I'm the one buying diapers now. In addition to diapers for Lil Bit I'm also having to buy Pull Ups for Lil Man so any left over money I used to have at the end of the paycheck is now being spent on covering baby bottoms.

Amber @ Classic Housewife said...

I'm racking my brain, I'm racking my brain... I know several young ladies who have recently had babies. I was trying to think, though, of someone who's socks would just be BLESSED. OFF. I'm sure I can find someone. I know how huge a difference a 6 month supply of diapers can make! When our 3rd was born and we were struggling so hard just to keep food on the table,... the many month supply of diapers our friends at the church had collected was the best gift we'd been given. It was a BIG deal. I would love the opportunity to turn around and pass on the same kind of blessing to someone else. Rest assured, I do know several moms with infants, and if I won, I'd make sure that it went to a very special mommy indeed. =)

Hi! My kids are out of that age but I met a *really* neat Mom at our homeschool co-op last week that has 5 kids. Her youngest is under 1 but I'm not really sure how old. Anyway, she has such a sweet spirit I felt led to start praying for her. Her husband is a pastor of a small church, and I feel sure that they could use this blessing. Her name is Melanie. I am Cassie and can be emailed at cassie4cincy@hotmail.com

I'm entering on behalf of my little sis. She has two boys - one almost three and trying to potty train, the other not yet one. Her husband just started medical school and they are on a pretty tight budget. I know this would make all the difference for them!

I can't use this, but my friend just had her second baby (at 5 am this morning!). Her older son is 20 months, and still in diapers. She was expecting twins, but lost one at 15 weeks. Since then, her pregnancy was difficult, with lots of worries for the baby who is now here and healthy. Her mother has been in and out of the hospital throughout all of this, and her Hubby has been working two jobs. I know this would be an AMAZING blessing to them.

Hi. I stumbled across your blog today and just had to toss my name in the hat for this giveaway. I'm expecting our first in just three weeks, and we're in that same spot you mentioned... Lord, only you can get us through the next few months financially! The diapers would be such a blessing to us. Regardless of who ends up getting the giveaway, I pray that God will continue to bless people through your blog as I'm know He already has. Thanks for the opportunity!

I am finding myself kindof sad that this doesn't really apply to me because my little one is 95% potty trained (Thank you LORD!!), but my sweet older brother needs this!!!!! With 4 children--the oldest 7 and the youngest 10 days old---I KNOW this would make a difference in his family's YEAR!!!! With two still in diapers, my bro is a self-employed, freelance copywriter and my sweet sis-in-law is a real estate loan officer. Can you say hard times?????????? So, this would BLESS their socks off. This giveaway rocks.

I almost didn't read this because I, too, am WAY out of the diaper age. However, my youngest brother (Ryan) who just got married and is expecting his first child could really use those diapers! You can contact me if I win and I will give you their contact information.

Kristen, what an awesome gift! We are almost out of the diaper stage (woo hoo!) but I do have a great friend who would benefit so much from this. She is one of my best friends and she is my cousin, by marriage. After a hard pregnancy, pre-term labor at 30 wks and strict bedrest for 6 weeks, she now has a 3 week old baby boy. Her and her husband have stretched their budget to enable her to stay home with her son for the next 3 or 4 months before having to go back to work. A 6 month supply of diapers would really help that budget! It's amazing the way God can use a blog to make a difference...keep it up!

And if my sister were to refuse for some strange reason, I would give them to a friend that runs a ministry for foster parents. My friend's ministry helps provide the foster parents with a week's worth of clothes so they're not making emergency midnight runs to wal-mart.

My "baby" cousin Jerome and his wife are to be first time parents in February. I started changing other cousins diapers in 1978 (when I was only 8) and have been changing them ever since. Jerome and Jessica work very hard but like most 20 somethings - they don't have a lot. When my sister was preg 3 years ago, we had everyone bring packages of wipes and diapers to her shower to be entered in a prize drawing. My sister ONLY bought TWO packs of diapers in 2-1/2 years (niece now potty trained). Anyhoo...I know what a HUGE gift this was to my sister and I would so love to be able to gift my cousins in the same way. You see, they live 6 hours away and I wont' get to change these diapers everyday from the day he/she is born. Thank you for your time.
Thank you for the opportunity to gift Jerome and Jessica B. with this awesome gift.

I'm sure many people are leaving selfless and wonderful comments about other deserving people they know. I'm gonna be the rude and selfish one asking for the diapers for myself. Well, not me, but my little girl. My husband is the worship pastor of our church, and I'm a part-time high school English teacher: voluntarily part time so that I can spend more time with our four year old and one year old. Between those two incomes we do not have a lot of wiggle room. Winning the Luvs giveaway would mean a lot in our household. Thanks for the opportunity!

I have to say that our family could really use this prize. Our daughter is 2 weeks old and we also have 2 little boys. We subsist on one income and we've had some challenges recently in regards to unexpected home repairs and hospital bills.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Wow! As I am just about to leave diapers behind (yipee, the youngest has finally decided the potty is her friend!!!), I would give this to my sister in law who is having her first baby in January. It'd be a wonderful gift. Thank you for the chance.

Jennifer said...

I am out of the diaper days too, Praise the LORD!, but a dear friend of mine is expecting her first and another just had twins, bless her heart. I would love to win and share!

I have a girlfriend who, long story short, is having trouble making ends meet. I know this would bless her so much!

Casey said...

Wow! What an awesome giveaway!! We just got one of our girls out of diapers but still have at least 10 more months of diapers to go for the little one. This would be a HUGE blessing. Thank you for the chance. :)

Christy said...

This prize would make a huge difference for us! Diapers are such a big expense!

Stephanie Reed said...

It's wonderful that you pray about your blog. My kids are way beyond the diaper stage, too, so I could have decided not to enter. BUT if I do win, I'll donate the products to my local food pantry. Diapers are a perennial need there, so I know my neighbors will benefit in the end. Haha, couldn't resist!

Angela said...

I can use these! My daughter has a digestive disease and goes through diapers like wipes. And we use about 5-6 wipes for each change! Thank you for praying over your blog. I hope I win!

cmeandthree said...

What a huge blessing this would be! I have a 2.5 yr old and 9 mth old. My oldest isn't potty trained yet - diapers for 2 each month = expensive!

Anonymous said...

I'm far, far past the diaper days, but I wanted to tell you that your prayers have been answered. You are effective... You do make a difference! Destiny D

without too many personal details, I am entering out of need. Some rough news last week leaves us in need of an extra $400 a month. We have a newborn in diapers, using them like mad AND a potty trained 2 year old needing pull ups for nap and night.

Yes. It does kill a budget. Thank you for this giveaway. If this is God's answer for us, then great. If not, then praise Him for His blessing (through you) to someone in need!

What an awesome giveaway, bathed in prayer!

I'm using cloth diapers, but a friend of mine at church is expecting her third (unexpected) baby in a few months. This would GREATLY help this family out!

Oh goodness, I would LOVE to win this giveaway. My last baby is in diapers, and diapers, as you know isn't something you can "cut back on"
We are so blessed and lucky to have what we do, but we, just like a lot of people are struggling to pay for the "everday" stuff. We just moved to another state, and are really feeling the push for cash. My strange neighbor was walking out of her apartment with a whole package of unopened diapers and was heading to the dumpster, when I finally got the guts to ask her what she was gonna do with them, and she said... "they are size three, and I don't need them" AHH. My girl wears a size 4... but you better BELIEVE that I'll make them work. Even if it's in between naps and bed time. lol.
Seriously can't imagine NOT spending 50 bucks on diapers every month or so, at Costco! It KILLS me!
Keeping my fingers crossed!

My "baby" is eight years old, so I don't need them. However, my sweet sister-in-law is due next month. This is a "suprise"--they are newlyweds and don't even have insurance. Six months of diapers would have a HUGE impact on their budget!

We are stationed in Kansas and almost all my my neighborhood men are in Iraq. I have a very good friend and neighbor who has 1 in diapers and a new baby girl on the way. Money is tight in the military and I know that winning these diapers would be the biggest miracle for her and her soon to be four kids. This would take some of the daily stress that we experience off of her. Thanks for the opportunity.

Thank you for choosing to be a blessing! My friend Jill and her husband, Jason, have three boys and are pregnant with TWIN boys!!! When she was 8 weeks pregnant her husband lost his job. They were devastated but believe it was actually a blessing because it prompted Jason to find a calling not simply a job. My husband is a critical care RN and took Jason to work with him several months ago. Jason loved it and my husband said he will make an awesome nurse! So, Jason is going back to school to become a RN. To say that things are going to be tight for the next couple of years is an understatement. But no matter how tight things get Jason keeps praising God for finding ways to provide for his family. Every. Time.
They inspire me to trust our amazing God more. Jill is due with her double blessings in four weeks and I would be so thrilled if she were to win this contest!!! Thanks!

I could really use this, It is awesome that you are able to do this. I have a 1 yr old (and a potty trained 4 yr old) but as we all know Diapers are expensive and my Husband is at home on Medical Disablitiy, he hurt his ankle pretty bad at work. So we are only getting 50% of his Paycheck, and I don't work. So every little bit helps. Thanks again and I hope I will :)

Some of the families there are more in need then others. If I win I would love to donate these some of the families at the daycare.

I have so much fun reading your blog! How great that you remembered what it was like to get through "those" months (I've blocked the whole diaper stage from my memory--after 4 kids, I'm so done with other people's hineys!). My friend Shannon in TX just had HER 4th little boy and just finished nursing school and hubby is self employed. I KNOW what a help these would be for them! Will keep praying!! Thanks for the giveaway....

I would feel blessed to tears to win this. We have one in diapers and are trying for #3. I know I have won something from you recently, but this giveaway would help me out so much. I'm due with my first child in December, and realy, I'm scared witless. Reading your blog made me panic a bit....I know diapers are expensive...but AH! The Dad and I aren't together, but we are working to raise our child together, thankfully. However, money is really, really tight.

Thank you for even considering me for this. The $5 off coupon will be amazing in itself too. And by the way, the letter sign I won from you is framed for the babies room!!

Thanks again,

We are a family of five living on one very small income. Both my husband and I are attending school; he works and makes just enough for us to survive. It would be a great relief to have even one month of help with diapers (as I know you know). I'm totally coming back to get that five dollar coupon because Luvs is actually the only brand of diapers I buy and has been for the last five years. :)
