Happy New Year {Giveaway}

This giveaway has now ended. Winners will be announced soon!

I thought about posting my best posts and pictures of 2009 like so many other bloggers are doing.

But y'all. I didn't get out of my pajamas until 2:30 p.m. yesterday. I'm working the lazy this week.

So, I thought a giveaway (a great one at that) would be just as good!

These pictures have one thing in common.

Can you find it?

Hint: Follow the red arrows.

Some good guesses might be...my pasty white skin, my love of denim and Disney...

(This has nothing to do with this post, but I have decided next time to actually watch my little girl open her presents on her birthday and to open my eyes during pictures. You could call them resolutions, if you will).

Answer: I'm wearing my favorite necklace from The Vintage Pearl.

It's the Eclectic Necklace. (I traded it for advertising months ago).

Here's a closer look, but I don't know who those children are:

eclectic necklace Product Image

It's a New Year. And The Vintage Pearl and I are starting it off with a bang and giving away TWO $50 gift certificates to TWO winners!!

I also love this bracelet:

circle of love bracelet Product Image
Erin of The Vintage Pearl is making one for me to review!

Leave a comment and tell me something you plan to do in the New Year!

Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'ALL!

I want 2010 to be a year of change. I've been thinking of goals that I'd like to work towards in 2010 for awhile... can't believe it's almost here. One little thing I'd like to do in 2010 is to blog more.

Gorgeous!

I am going to work on my relationships with everyone... family, friends, acquaintances, my tax clients... everyone! Try to be more 'in the moment' with them. 2009 went by in such a blur... I want to have more 'moments' on a daily basis... I think in order for that to happen, I need to slow down and focus.

Starting January 5th, I'm heading off to watch The Biggest Loser with a bunch of my girl friends. We're doing our own Biggest Loser competition (all of us have baby weight to lose from recent 2009 additions). Everyone pitches in $20 to the pot, and the mama who loses the most, wins the dough. We're even going to do a weigh in. In public. For all the other mamas to see. (Let's hope it's on a teeny-tiny scale, not the big scales like on the t.v. show!) Anyway...so that's my goal. Lose.this.baby.weight! Thanks for the entry.

My New Year's Resolution is to eat a banana EVERYDAY. There are studies that say that people who eat bananas everyday are happier. I have a sensitive tummy and bananas are soothing to the tummy. Although those are excellent reasons to eat a banana everyday, the reason I made this resolution has to do with salt. Bananas are loaded with potassium and potassium helps you excrete salt. I LOVE salty snacks. Potato chips, popcorn, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels, cheese...you get the picture. I'm smart enough to know that I will not be able to give up all my salty snacks all year...but I can eat a banana everyday to help my body handle those snacks better. And plus...remember the first reason...people that eat bananas are happier...and who doesn't want to be happier?! :)

I love, love, love that Eclectic Necklace...left several hints for the hubster for something like this...guess he didn't catch on.

In the new year, I'm not going to let my MS stop me from doing all the things I want to do. Mind over matter! I will not let MS get in my way!

I am taking charge of our grocery budget and going to try to cut it in half! I think over $1,000 a month is WAY to much and I'm not going to do it anymore!! My kids have been warned :}

My goal is not to worry as much. I realize that my health has taken a big hit because of the worry. My circumstances are not the greatest right now, but God, I know is in control. I want to rest more in His arms.

I want to become more proactive and less reactive....most of the time I feel like I'm jumping on a roller coaster when I get out of bed in the morning and then being dumped back into bed at the end of a long day. With God's help, I plan to become more intentional in the things that I do/don't accomplish.

I plan to be more in control of my spirit. I get upset WAY too easily at such little, petty things. In turn, this will make me a much better wife and mom.

My plan for the new year is to enjoy my family, friends, and life as much as I can! Life is too short... and once my boyfriend graduates in May, and gets a job - who knows where we'll end up!!

Read the Bible, again - from beginning, cover to cover, I got a new Devotional Bible for Christmas, and already started! In addition have weekly devotionals with my kids.

Actually use the Wii Fit I got for Christmas!

I know these resolutions well...they are escentially the same ones I make every year. The good news is that I accomplish a little more each year so I see progress. I want to continue to seek God and grow in my passion for Him. I want to love people like God loves them. Oh yeah, & I want to continue to work towards a healthy lifestyle for me & my family.

I plan to spend more time pouring into my husband and children and to think about and spend less time on myself. I plan to do more for others in Jesus' name. I plan to read God's Word more, because this year that was kind of dismal. And when I spend more time with Him, I'm pretty sure the spending more time on others will come more naturally.

This year Honey and I are going to actively explore the possibility of moving closer to my family. We, er, I've been talking about it ever since we moved to New England but never seriously did anything about it. Princess will be in 1st grade two years from now and if we're going to move I'd rather do it before then.
The problem is that where we live now is a whole lot better than back home - with the exception of our family. But being close to family we love and that loves us is more important than schools, crime rate, job availability and cost of living, right?

I am doing the Read the Bible in 90 days Challenge. Even if I don't make it in 90 days, I am determined that this is the year,I read the entire bible straight through!

I want to run a 10K this year. I did (3) seperate 5 k's last year so I think I CAN!!

I am giving up fried foods. (NO french fries or Chick-fil-a! THAT is going to be HARD!) I have GOT to loose some more weight though...

And my "key word" for the year is "CHOOSE" As in "choose this day whom you will serve" and "Mary has chose the better part"...I want to Choose to spend more time intentionally with my kids. I want to Choose the right foods for my body. I want to choose to move and exercise like God designed our bodies to do...

Thanks for the chance to win!!
