Happy New Year {Giveaway}

This giveaway has now ended. Winners will be announced soon!

I thought about posting my best posts and pictures of 2009 like so many other bloggers are doing.

But y'all. I didn't get out of my pajamas until 2:30 p.m. yesterday. I'm working the lazy this week.

So, I thought a giveaway (a great one at that) would be just as good!

These pictures have one thing in common.

Can you find it?

Hint: Follow the red arrows.

Some good guesses might be...my pasty white skin, my love of denim and Disney...

(This has nothing to do with this post, but I have decided next time to actually watch my little girl open her presents on her birthday and to open my eyes during pictures. You could call them resolutions, if you will).

Answer: I'm wearing my favorite necklace from The Vintage Pearl.

It's the Eclectic Necklace. (I traded it for advertising months ago).

Here's a closer look, but I don't know who those children are:

eclectic necklace Product Image

It's a New Year. And The Vintage Pearl and I are starting it off with a bang and giving away TWO $50 gift certificates to TWO winners!!

I also love this bracelet:

circle of love bracelet Product Image
Erin of The Vintage Pearl is making one for me to review!

Leave a comment and tell me something you plan to do in the New Year!

Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'ALL!

I love your blog...I've been following for a while! So this year I plan on trying to relax and live in the moment a little bit more. I tend to get too caught up in what's coming up next or things I "need" to do....I feel like I'm missing something. My girls deserve a mom that's fully there and present in the moment.

I feel everyone looks at a new year and say, "I am going to do this or that differently." So seldom do they/I do that. I do always hope to grow closer to God, enjoy my life with my three kids and my husband. So often I live by a to do list when life is sooooo much more. I am thankful for everything I have. I have a 91 year old grandad who dictated such great advice this Christmas. He has worked for what he has, shared what he owns, lives simply, is ALWAYS happy and still lives at home. I do not think there is one thing he is bitter about. I want to use that life as an example.

Aside from the regular- hit the gym three times a week, eat more fruits and veggies, watch portions, etc- goals, I'm adding a new one that will be lots of fun. Once a week I'm going to do something special for a stranger. Pay for the person behind me at a drive-thru, give a pedicure at the retirement home, or even just say something when I notice someone in line at the grocery store has pretty hair or cute shoes (those little compliments always make my day). It’d be even more wonderful if those people ‘passed it on’. :)

My new years goals (not resolutions) are all about setting me and my family up for success not failure. I wrote about it on my blog but basically I have no idea what this year is going to bring so I can't say lose 20 pounds when I might have a baby and gain 40. I can't say organize my whole house when it looks like we might be moving to Guam. My goal is to stay positive and go with the flow.

I feel like we are all graduating. Woo Hoo! Happy New Year Everyone!

Hey! I'm new to your blog--came across it through another. Very fun! Very familiar!! I love it--

My plans for this new year include, very simply, to know God more and to spend less meaningless computer & phone time and more meaningful real person time with my amazing man and 6 kids He has given me!

Facebook, email, chatting on end, etc., can pull me away too often from too many opportunities to live and love. And I'm not even that computer savvy! Just have found myself drifting away on it...I've been convicted! I can be a stay at home mom who adores the Lord, but fail my children terribly by putting them off to do these trivial things that in the end, mean nothing. There's a balance--don't get me wrong. I love me some girl time on the phone, for sure! Just want to watch the clock a bit more on it this year...be aware of my children's needs, as well as my own needs to be Jesus, and what I may be sacrificing eternally. God has called me to a tremendous ministry here in my home--as a wife, a mommy, and even a pastor's wife--and I want to do it well.

That is my simple goal for this year! Wishing you and your family a very richly blessed new year--may you know God more! Glad to have found your blog and look forward to reading it when I am on the computer!! :) Lea

Our oldest "daughter" is a niece we incorporated into our family 4 years ago based on her lack of family and the crisis surrounding her. Our own 5 are ages 10-2, which began when I was just about to turn 30. I want to love them each more passionately, more physically, more deeply this year!!
