Vintage Pearl {Giveaway}

*UPDATE* We have a winner, people. Mr. Random chose a man (my hubby will be proud)! Congrats to Dave HomeSchool Dad

While I'm bonding with my hubby this week, I thought y'all might enjoy a giveaway from one of my favorite Etsy stores!

Y'all know I love my hubby (even when he takes pictures of me sleeping with my mouth open).

How could I not? Especially when he comes up with stuff like this:

He contacted The Vintage Pearl and had her create this necklace for me:

You're what works for me
(as in WFMW)

I'm glad I work for him. And I'm assuming he's not referring to the laundry.

Erin did a fabulous job. I absolutely love her hand-stamped jewelry!

Today, she's offering a reader a custom piece. Winner's choice ($50 value)!

Visit her shop, tell me what you'd put on a custom piece, or even better, what your hubby would engrave on a necklace!!

This giveaway will end on Friday.

i love her shop...so many cute things! if i won this, i'd definitely ask my husband to come up with something to engrave. i'm wanting a necklace that represents our family somehow, so i'd do initials or names or something.

thanks!

pcb said...

My husband would definitely engrave "to my sweet baboo, you know". Since we were teenagers and he couldn't tell me he loved me over the phone in front of his family :) he's said 'you know', even on the anniversary (34th) card he gave me yesterday! The sweet baboo is from the Peanuts comic strip, which we love.

Amy @ Finer Things said...

My hubby would say "Can I keep you?" It's our thing... :)

Oh, that is GORGEOUS!!! I just asked my husband what he would engrave and I thought I knew what he would say...and I was right.

His immediate response: "you are my forever love".

This is a special phrase in our family b/c I wrote a poem for him before we were married and this is the final line.

She has so many beautiful things! If my husband had a necklace engraved for me, it would probably have a line from one of my favorite Shakespeare sonnets. He knows I value sentiment, but not too much cheese. :)

I shudder to think what my hubby would have engraved. He goes between very romantic and very off color sense of humor at the drop of a hat. I would hate to catch him at the wrong time. I think I would do some sort of metal and pearl necklace that simply said "Blessed"

Jenna said...

what beautiful work. I'd have her write "HARMONY"- the same thing that's engraved inside our wedding rings.

Cheryl @ a pretty cool life. said...

Great giveaway!

My hubby would say "come waste your time with me" from the first song we danced to at our wedding. I would put the names of my sons on it.

i would love to get my kids names on a names around my heart necklace

what your husband did was really sweet maybe he could teach mine a thing or two. :)

aka Brooke said...

Oh, another good site!! I love her stuff! I've "added to my favorites". Hmmm *thinking*... I'm thinking my DH would prolly put "I could not ask for more" (Sara Evans song). I had it engraved on his wedding band and it was "our song" at the wedding.

Lady Dragonsinger said...

on a disc going around the edges, my hubby would put

"the journey continues..."

On our first date, he gave me a rose with a card "A journey begins with a single step" :)

Brigid said...

I love the "starlet"--I still wish on stars.

But also, I saw a necklace once that I wanted very much. It had two flaps. The outer one said nothing but had a cut-out square in the middle. Behind it you could see the word "be". If you lifted the flap, you can see that the flap hides the word "just." So the rear flap says "just be", and the front one means all you can see is "be".

Amanda said...

I have got to say that your husband is super sweet for that one! Now, if I won..... I would love one with a heart and my kids names around it ~ if my husband ordered it he'd probably put something absolutely crazy that would make me laugh... which is why I love him!

meg said...

I SO love them all. My fave is the mother of pearl on a disc. I'd put my kids names on them.

The Peacock Pearl said...

i would ABSOLUTELY get the chunky daisy chain bracelet. AAGH, Love it! and i'm pretty sure that if my husband chose the engraving he would pick "silly romantic boy". :)

Arya said...

He would pick out the "names around my heart" and put "Imzadi forever" because that's what he had engraved in our wedding bands.

Amanda said...

Oh I love Erin's shop and reading her blog. I love the fused flower necklace. I would put my daughter's initial on it and let her wear it.

My dh may suggest - "Welcome to my world" which I say all the time, and is the name of my blog.

My kids might say "Is your room tidy?" because I say that all the time too!

I would chose "Blessed"

I am quite impressed with your hubby too- that is a great gift with a very creative personalization.
I think I would choose "I have found the one whom my soul loves" from the Old Testament.
Thanks for a fun giveaway!

Kimarie @ Cardamom's Pod said...

Wow - these necklaces are so lovely, because they are so simple. AND I love silver! I would probably choose a disc with mine and hubby's names, and then the first initial of our 9 children's names separated by dots - no way to fit full names! :-)

As to what my hubby would write: Probably "Marry me?" since he keeps asking :-) - we'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary 7/2. Or "Lava" which has become our "I love you" when we text.

eringoodman said...

oh my! your husband is too sweet!

i love "cup of love"!!!!

wow- that's a hard one! i guess i'd put my kids' name on smething- maybe the dainty hearts on a chain... can she do 6 names? hope so, if i win!

I love the names around my heart necklace, with all 4 of my kids' names engraved. If my hubby got that, I would be thrilled!

Amanda said...

First your husband did an awesome job! I am pretty sure he figured out my love of Etsy for my birthday this year (yippee! 2 more weeks!). I am in love with the dainty hearts though, just too cute! With an M and a B it would be perfect for me!

BarbaraH said...

How cool! I'd have to go with "Vous et Nul Autre" - it was on the promise ring my hubby gave me. OR "A Kiss for Later" - that's our thing. Ooh - or maybe my kids' names...

Laurie said...

What a great necklace! My husband would put "I swear by the moon and the stars...". I Swear by John Michael Montgomery has been 'our' song since very early in our relationship (15 years ago!)- we used it at our wedding, and it's now our ring tones for each other. Would LOVE to have a necklace like that!

That is the sweetest thing! Love it. If my hubby could create a necklace it would say "Hey babe, it is babe isn't it?" A saying he's said to me all of our 23 years together. It might not mean much to anyone else, but to me it's very sentimental!

I love the one your hubby picked out - that's the one I'd choose.

However, my darling husband would probably choose a different engraving.

Brother in law made a joking comment the other day, and hubby's response was "Dude, that's my wife. Hands off. Just like my tools and my truck. Don't touch."

Uhm... Thanks? I think? He clarified last night by telling me "You're higher on the list than my tools, honey". Do you think that would fit?

Amanda said...

I would pick the dainty hearts on a chain with mine and my husband's initials. If my hubby got to choose engraving he would probably say something like "do you know where my _____ is?" :) Enjoy your vacation with hubs.

I'd get "Happy to you!", its our family motto inspired by my 1-yr old who started saying it all the time to everyone when we tried to teach him the birthday song. Now we say it to each other daily, and any family or friends who visit. It "works for us!"

I like the single pearl on yours too.

Debby@Just Breathe said...

I love Etsy, Jennifer Jason Lee mentioned it on Weeds last night!
I love these necklaces, have been thinking about getting them for my niece's for Christmas.

My husband would put "Love Mark"
on the necklace for me. See I would want it to say "Love Always Mark" When we got married in '72 that is what he put in my ring and I put the Love Always in his. So we split up after 11 years, divorced for six, and have been back together for 20 years now. Actually come to think of it our Anniversary is tomorrow the 24th.
So he still won't do "Love Always" on anything, can't even sign a card that way but I do believe he will always love me!

Etsy is great - and takes a lot of effort. My wife also has an etsy shop (sofyaswords.etsy.com) so is familiar with all the ups and downs of selling there.
The Vintage Pearl is great though. Very cool shop.

Anyway, I would engrave "That's all I ask of you" from the Phantom of the Opera. Its a favourite show of ours.

My favorite is the names around my heart one. Since I'm expecting my second child, I would wait until we positively know what we're having and have my kids names on it.
If my hubby were to write something, it would say "With Warmest Regards". He wrote that in a card for me back when we were first dating, not knowing what else to say. We said the "I love yous" very shortly after, but that's alwayws been our thing.

My husband even has it tattooed on him, lol.

My husband is an amazing man, but he would never think to do something like your necklace. Unless I strongly "hinted" at it, and that takes away a lot of the meaningfulness.
I ordered baby spoons for my twin nephews a couple months ago, and they were so pretty!
If I won, I'd probably get something with my kids' names.

Thanks for all you do. Your blog is a daily treat.

I'm so jealous...the only woman to GET a gift on Father's Day. :)

I love the one he chose best. And I would make my husband come up with something. We also use SHMILY (see how much I love you) or "I didn't miss my chance." Which comes from a totally inappropriate comment.... At another guy's wedding, the groom said "I had missed my chance" to date him...at his own wedding he said that to me! We still laugh at the line.

Oh I just love "names around my heart" and I would put my children's names around MY heart:-)
I'm glad you had a fabulous time on your anniversary trip w/o kids!

I lost my wedding rings a few years ago. My husband would probably put our anniversary date and the verse reference that was inscribed on my ring - Prov. 3:5-6.

My hubby would engrave 2000 years...it's always been our promise to each other...it's in even our wedding bands...married forever...no matter what...indestructible ties because we promised our marriage to our Saviour...

This is for the travel post. Give each kid their own pillow. I'm 25, my sister is 21, and my Mom is 50 and we stil don't share. We each take our own!! You can make a really small one with some fleece fabric as a pre-trip craft too!!

I really love these necklaces, and how sweet of your hubby. I am getting married in September and this necklace would look great! I would put 'Eternal Flame'. One of my favorite old songs and the way I feel about my fiance!

I already have the "circle of love" ( think that is what it was called) one with my kids names on it. I have gotten so many compliments on it. I love the one she made for you, concave with the small pearl. Hubbie said he would put Proverbs 31:10-12. (An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.)

He gets points for even suggesting it! ;)

Wow...you have one romantic hubby! I would give the necklace to my daughter. She just graduated from college as an RN, so her name followed by the hard earned letters would be special for her!

I love vintage pearl. I have a necklace on it's way to me right now. I could, of course, always use something else! It's hard to pick...everything is lovely!

I have been looking at these for awhile. I would love to get my mother one for Christmas. She has 3 grandchildren all born in the month of June. She would absolutely love it! To have a piece of her grandchildren with her at all times would be a great gift!

Gorgeous.

My hubby would probably put "The Way you Look Tonight". Or maybe just my daughter's name.

Thanks so much!

My hubby would have "my best friend" and our wedding date put on it.

She has beautiful things.

Thank you!

I think I would love to have my children's names...I have bought this type of necklace for my sister, and SILs!

I like the mother of pearl on disc best I think. I'd have our 3 names on it in lower case cursive with dots in between. I am not usually a jewelry wearer, but I'd wear that for sure.

I would love the large square with the heart to say "I love your love the most" ::Sigh:: Mine and the hubbys song!

I love the hearts and would put my husband and girls' names on them!

I like the one with the heart in the circle. I would have MTY, LTT engraved. It means More Than Yesterday, Less Than Tomorrow. My hubby and I have been using that to close letters since we started dating 23 years ago.

I've been wanting something with hearts, but it's hard to choose...

I love jewelry like this! So personalized! I wish I could see more! It looks like she is working on her shop -- so I will come back later -- but, I love the clean and simple looks! So pretty!

A friend of mine makes personalized jewelry as well. Check her blog out....she is great to work with and offers cool products, too!!

I <3 her shop! And I love pearls!

Lemme see, hubby said he would put on one for me: "You are loved"

If I got one for myself, I'd have her engrave: "The swine aren't getting THIS one!"

I too have no clue what my hubby would write...if he would be that romantic...it's not his style. ;-) But I think I would get Peace, Hope, Love....or something like that...
Great giveaway!

Love Vintage Pearl and your blog - it is one of my daily reads. I would put "together as one" which is engraved in our wedding rings. 12 years and 3 kids later (mine are about the same ages as yours) we are still together as one! Thanks for the giveaway.

I really love the "I love you to the moon..." piece because that's what I say to my kiddos. So I would love that piece and have my kids names engraved.

If it were the piece like the one your hubby gave you I think my hubby would put...hmmm, just realized I have no idea. I'm sure he'd come up with something great! =)
