Chopped Liver

Chopped Liver.

Appetizing, isn't it?

A big brown lump that causes instant gagging.

That's my status around here.

*Sigh*

My kids have a great dad. He's a pretty superb hubby too, from what I know, he being the only one I'll ever have. My punks picked up on this early. He's the fun parent. He also took over when I had a little procedure done the other day.

Okay. So, not only is he a great Dad. He's a great Mom, too.

Maybe I should get him a Mother's Day present this year.

Oh, I kid.

I
will be receiving the gifts this Sunday.

I digress.

My toddler is especially enamored with her Dad these days. When I get her out of her crib, she says, "Daddy?"

I mean, sure he's dynamic and all, but I decided to tackle this mystery and find out how my status turned to chopped liver.   Just like that *snap*.

This is what I discovered: A massage, a deep tissue massage.

The foot, the toes--all 10 of them!
Oh, yes!  I recognize THAT look.

The brain massage-her tension is just melting away.

Look at that smile, she's got him right where she wants him!

I don't know how long this has been going on. But suddenly things began to make sense. Since I'm all about pampering, I really couldn't blame her.  Her Daddy has a talent, that's for sure.  I just thought I was the only one.

Oh.
And you know what?

Chopped liver?  I've never tried it, but I'm thinking, how bad can it be?

Food for the Soul:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 4:6-7

She looks very happy.

I hope you get your share of massages. And although you may feel like chopped liver, no one can ever replace Mama.

Tell him to put that sweet little bundle down and get busy with YOUR massage. (Are you forgetting to milk that "little procedure?")

Don't worry. If anyone cries in the middle of the night, it will be YOU they want. Guaranteed. I promise!

Cute post!

My oldest foster daughter (she's 14 months old) has my husband wrapped around her little finger. She's definitely a "Daddy's" girl!

Loved the pictures you shared!

That is adorable. Love the pictures!

Funny! I've often wondered why, oh why do the kids prefer daddy to me when I am the one who is with them ALL DAY LONG. Maybe that's it-I'm too accessible and of course, I don't give deep tissue massages:)

Oh boy, do I know the feeling of chopped liver, but one day, (I hope) there will be recongnition for all the cool mommy things and my liver status will suddenly be changed to Porterhouse.

How sweet, a little foot rub and some tender head rubbing, of course the girl wants her daddy! Us Mammas are way to busy cooking and cleaning and cooking and doing laundry to sit and do a rub down. Thats one good husband you have!
And liver is just flat out nasty, and this comes from a girl who makes fried squirrel and gravy. Bet you didn't know that about me did you....

that's why i'm not having anymore kids.. everytime i go in the hospital the last one decides daddy is the best... i want to still like me!!
i hope you're feeling better soon!

Please pray for a family member of mine whose husband has told her he is living after 25 years of marriage. She is very distraught. They have four children, two still at home, and four grandchildren. AND they are strong christians. The heart is hurting and very heavy, I need you and all your blogger friends prayers....PLEASE. He had a heart attack a few years ago and has never been the same. He is a great guy, we just can't seem to figure this all out.

Whadda guy!

I say let the kids like Daddy best and instead focus on how you can get him to massage YOU more often! ;o)

Aww...you're not chopped liver (I almost typed chapped - how gross would that be?) You're just getting a much needed break. When the kids get sick, then you KNOW who they really want. :)

hey! I've seen your comments over at Hallie's blog and finally had a minute to stop by! Hello!

Now. that chopped liver made me want to gag a little. Whew! Glad it's not too early in the a.m.

OH! and I love the blue color of your blog. I'm totally wanting to change my color to something like that, but have yet to find a new header to match. Peas and carrots don't go with blue.

i think those times when mommy is "out of commission" it's good to see that they can survive. but it is ALWAYS nice to know we are appreciated! i wanna know if Y-O-U got your ten little toes massaged? what a sweet hubby you have there.

That's funny! I was chopped liver when my little boy was into boy tools...he still is, but now he's found a new love called the "computer" and since M-O-M is the one who can make them hum at our house, I am no longer chopped liver. HA!

How CUTE is that picture of her getting her head messaged! I love it! And man, what a nice daddy! Yes, she is feeling complete bliss!

I've never tried chopped liver either and don't think I will. :) Cute post. You are not chopped liver. You're the irreplaceable mom. Happy Mother's Day!

She has got it all figured out at a very young age.

I love the pictures, especially the one where her face is VERY relaxed.

BTW~ she'll never outgrow it!

I didn't!

Make sure you tell dad his gluten for punishment with the future hubby or it must be on "his resume" before marriage kwim?

Recouping well I hope!

Awww...looks like she has Daddy wrapped around her little finger already. But, NOTHING can replace a Mommy.

By the way, I love the bible verse for today. Philippians 4:6 is one of my favorite bible verses.

My husband is the "fun" parent too.

I've never actually seen chopped liver. Thanks for the visual!

I spoke with Casey Kasem and he said that he would be happy to do a long distance dedication to your hubby when he travels again. But, and this part is SWEET, he thought he could possibly get Delilah and Rick Dees too. Wolf Man Jack politely declined.

Have a happy day Liver Girl!

So cute! I can totally relate. No matter what I do during the day, it's all about Daddy when he gets home. :-)

I, too, am chopped liver. when the babies were born, they were ALL ABOUT MAMA. Now it's Mama who? Daddy is so much more fun. Mama cleans. Is it always this way?
