Her Name is Grace Because He is Amazing

This is the day I met my third child for the first time. I held her one week later, attempted to nurse her two weeks after that.

After God did a miracle in my marriage, I started dreaming of having another baby. A third child. We were already blessed with a girl and boy and thought we were done.

But then, we fell in love again. And it just seemed right that a baby come from our new union. . .

Hi there
I linked here from Incourage and just wanted to thank you for your encouragment to me this day.
My story differs slightly from yours. My baby Sarah was born with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome (also called a failure to thrive) and she died on Christmas eve 1994. However God blessed us with a son after her ( we named him Caleb which means faithful, because God was faithhful to give him to us. Three years later we had Hannah, which is Hebrew for Grace as God was ever so gracious to give me another little girl. She is 10 now and such a delight.
God is good all the time.

Kristen- Thank you for writing the way you do. From the heart both good and bad. I don't think blogging should just be happy and light hearted. People need the deeper I know I do and I think you for sharing your family with us.

What a beautiful story. You inspire me. My daughter has been a semi-long-term "guest" of the PICU twice in her short life, and we never know how to properly thank the doctors and nurses who gave her back to us (well, them and God, of course). This is a wonderful idea.

Just a beautiful and inspiring story! I want to tell you how much your words have meant to me this morning. I have given birth to 6 healthy, large babies, three married, two with children of their own. I do not know your fear of losing a child, and am grateful that, thus far, I have never had to know that. I do know that trials come in our lives everyday, and sometimes they don't just go away. I am grateful for your sweet loving reminder that I do have a loving Father in heaven that knows me and hears my prayers. Thank you so much for making such a difference for one day in the life of one lady in Arizona!

Thank you Kristen, just what i needed to hear today. We've just been hanging on by a thread since Oct 5th, the day my grandson was diagnosed with a malignant braintumor at the age of 11 months. I never ever thought i would sit in the PICU looking at my grandson not knowing if he will have a chance to grow up.
I dropped my daughter and grandson off last weekend out of state for his proton radiation treatment(6 weeks), i miss them so much. I'm used to seeing him almost every day and you are right, sometimes it feels like you are alone.

I have followed your blog for a few weeks now and believe that God led me to your words. In the middle of fighting for my marriage along side my husband of 8 years, your words give me courage and strength to keep fighting. Our situation seems mirrored in your writing. I am excited to follow your He/Said series.
I have always known that God is with us, but a reminder from others is always encouraging.
Thank you for being so open and honest. God bless you and your family. Your little girl looks so full of joy! Happy Birthday, Grace:)

Kirsten, every day you give me so much hope by your words. I feel like I have a real sister in God when I read your posts. Living in an atheist country where Christianity is mocked, you and your family give me hope and courage to be who I am here, and to hold onto my beliefs. God bless you and your beautiful family. I hope that when our family comes it will be as strong in its values and as together as yours. You really are a great role model as a mother and a woman. I am so happy for Grace today, happy birthday girl! Love, Alex

She lives life with vigor and gusto! And after such a difficult start and all. She reminds me so much of my 3-yr. old. Ornery and adorable all at the same time! And, my daughters middle name is Grace! I say it's because it's by the Grace of God that she's here (we thought we were done)!!! They bring a lot of life & love to our household, don't they? Thanks for sharing your story!
