WFMW-SwagBucks

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and are ready for the New Year!

I'm just ready to stop eating. And I will, as soon as I find my self control. I seem to have misplaced it. *Cough*

I've been hearing about Swagbucks off and on for several months. I signed up probably 6 months ago, but didn't get it and didn't do anything with it. I didn't really take the time to investigate it.

And then, the week before Christmas, I heard that two people paid for all of their gifts with Swagbucks (like hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars in Amazon gift cards, purchased with saved Swagbucks!) Suddenly, I found the time to learn about it with some help from Twitter friends!

Now, I am hooked. (Especially since it doesn't require any more Internet time that I normally use). In just two weeks, from consistent use (no tricks or secrets, really), I've earned over 100 Swagbucks! I made Swagbucks my home page, so I have to type in my usual URLs. I've earned several, just for going to my own blog!

You can easily join (for free) and start earning your own Swagbucks today! How does it work: It's very simply a search engine that rewards you for searching. Instead of using your regular search engine, you use the Swagbucks engine or even more handy, download a great toolbar that's right at your fingertips.

Every once in awhile, while searching, a Swagbuck or two or five will be awarded. These can be redeemed for prizes or Amazon gift cards.

And that's it, easy! I've quickly learned that if you invite friends and family (no blog, needed!) and they sign up, it increases your Swagbucks. I'm not much of a salesperson, but I sincerely want to help people pay for Christmas next year!

If you have a blog, you can post a button to help people sign up (like the one below) to encourage your readers to sign up and then they can encourage their readers and so on:

Search & Win

Remember, this isn't an overnight money miracle. It's a slow, steady consistency that pays off in the end. My goal is to save my Swagbucks for the entire year and pay for Christmas next year!!

I think this is a great goal for the New Year.

Please remember *NEXT WEEK* is a themed WFMW: BACKWARDS Edition! It's your turn to ask a question of your readers!

Thank you for joining me for WFMW! {You can read the guidelines here.}

Have a Works-For-Me Wednesday tip you'd like to share? I'd love for you to join us! Please note that the links will close at 9 pm CST tonight, in order to keep away the spammers!

I did like you Kristin - heard about it, signed up, but never really did anything with it - I will definitely look into it again! I know I even had a button on my blog at one time, but I don't even know if it's still there!.......off to check it out!

I have wondered about Swag Bucks. I've been afraid it's another one of those things that trick you and don't really pay. But lots of people I trust swear by it, so maybe I'll try it.

I realized I forgot my blog name on mine (#2) so it looks kind of spammy, but it's me!

I use Swagbucks too! Gave my DH a $25 Amazon Gift Card for Christmas and it cost me -0-! Pretty cool!
Thanks for hosting!

Oops, I messed up! Sorry. :( Can you delete link #4 peppermint pleasures? It won't let me re-post the corrected version until this one is gone I believe. Thank you. :)

Ok Girl - you beat me to my post. We're going to do this together...next Christmas. :) BTW, are you going to Blissdom again?

Alyssa @ KeepingTheKingdomFirst said...

Yep, Swagbucks pretty much RAWK! I am one of those tweeters who paid for Christmas with Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks. Hundreds of dollars worth! It is not a scam, they truly pay. Sign up, you won't regret it!

Same here. Heard about it, signed up, get the emails and still don't use it. And my husband and I do a lot of internet searching. I was under the impression you had to buy something in order to earn something. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to get back to it soon.

Yes, it's real. I was skeptical just like you and Sarah (above), so I waited a few months to see how other bloggers reviewed it. It's been a year now and Swagbucks is a SIGNIFICANT part of my extra income every month. I just used $300 in Amazon GCs for Christmas, and I've posted about some of the ways I earn so many. From the few hours per week I sit and write my blog posts, with all the searching I do for coupon matchups and such, I make a lot on my own, but the referrals are key. Give it a try--I think you'll love it!

This is interesting and I will have to research it when I am more conscious. Thank you for sharing. I am new to blogging and cae upon your site tonight via Twice Remembered. I will be returning! I love your header --so clever and creative and such a beautiful family!

Happy New Year!

I LOVE Swagbucks... I'm just saving those suckers up for next Christmas!!!!

The 100 points in 2 weeks that you earned-- does that include the referral points you get or not?

I am on the computer searching for most of the day and average just 45 points in slightly under 3 weeks.

Love the Swag Bucks! I paid for homeschool materials over the summer and Christmas, too!

And by the way, my Half Heimers is acting up again because I posted my backwards WFMW this week! DOH!

I love Swagbucks! I always redeem our bucks for restaurants.com gift certificates so we can enjoy a nice dinner out (relatively guilt free!).

Just a pity you have to be a US resident to be a swash buckler!!! I would love to "earn" Amazon Gift Cards from across the world!!!

Swagbucks rocks!! I don't get into stuff like this much but I have redeemed almost 50 bucks in amazon gift cards and I only joined in June!! I only have one friend who joined under me who actually uses it but it really does add up. I have been saving for my own Christmas gift this year but I like your idea of saving for everyone's gifts next year!

I just signed up, thanks!

Darla said...

Cool thanks!! I signed up under your referral. :)

Meg @ Higgins Happenings said...

Hmmm I may have to look into that! It doesn't seem like a bad idea just that it will take a while to gain the money!

Kristen said...

Kare-yes, that's from referrals too. It's all mixed in together, but if you look under your account, and click on referrals, it tells you how many you've gotten per referral.

I'm a casual SB user. I have it set as my default search engine and use it when I need to search for something. I've found that for me, though, that it won't give me bucks for regular searches...only for the specialized ones.

That said, I recently bought The Spark - the new book put out by the creator of Sparkpeople.com - for $3 off Amazon using my SB gift cards (the book retails for $15, I think).

Yeah, I'd heard about Swagbucks before but didn't really know much about it until I read this. I just signed up! Thanks for the heads up!

Oh yes, Swagbucks is fantastic! I and was able to pay for over $150 of Christmas presents by using it!

I LOVE Swagbucks...we haven't made HUNDREDS of dollars, but we did get about $50 dollars (mostly on Amazon gift cards) on it so far...and it just keeps going...you earn for doing things you'd already be doing.
Can't wait to hear what you get with yours!

I love swagbucks. I have not been a member for too long but was able to get 4 others join. So I got their points too. I have got about 6 $5 Amazon GC and 3 movie tickets so far. I love it. I use if for all my searches and even type in my frequent web addresses (like blogger, gmail, facebook, and yahoo). THanks for all the hard work you put into your blog. I appreciate it. Happy New Year!

Gonna give it a try. Just signed up.

Yes! Swagbucks is awesome!

I have used Swagbucks for several months now. I have been 'hoarding' them so far, but finally decided to cash them in for some Amazon GCs. You can redeem/buy TWO things per day! I wish I had a blog to get all those referrals....your Swagbucks should be racking up now!!

We paid for Christmas with Swagbucks! It was great to see them adding up all year long. We mostly used Amazon gift cards, and combined with deals, we only spent $45 for over $250 worth of products for Christmas, and it was stuff we really wanted! It's just my husband, me, and my daughter, but Swagbucks is one of my favorite finds. I'm glad you've come around! :)

we just started swagging a month ago and have 60. Plus I have used a few for the drawings. My hubbie wanted an xbox 360 this year. Did not win but have several friends who have won things.
