Turned 27 on Sunday. Such a strange feeling that I'm in my 'upper 20's!' But knowing one day I would blissfully go back to this age!

Heather said...

I've got you beat! I turned 39 on the 12th!! Ughhhh!! It's the last one I'm celebrating and recognizing! ;)
And if that wasn't hard enough, I'm getting ready to spend 5 days in an African village!! Sleeping on the ground, no indoor plumbing, a squatty potty(aka hole in the ground), and having to kill our own chickens and lamb for dinner. Oh, and eating with our hand only. BUT I couldn't be MORE EXCITED!! I can't wait to share the Good News of Christmas with the villagers!!:)
Happy Birthday!! I may be a little biased, but I do believe that December babies are the VERY BEST!! ;)

I turned 37 in July. I too am amazed that it seems so "old" I remember when my mom was my age she had a high school graduate! My oldest is only 7 years old. I think having younger kids keeps me feeling younger.
I do have to admit that I just bought hair color for the first time. I've had it done at the beauty shop, but that was just for coloring purposes. This home hair coloring is going to be for gray coverage. I can't believe how they are multiplying on my head everyday.

I'll be right there with ya on January 5th when I turn 37 myself. And you're right, that number does make you feel old for some reason doesn't it? Happy Birthday a day early!

31. I didn't mind turning 31 as much as I minded 30 or even 26. Maybe it's true what they say about finding yourself in your 30's and fully embracing yourself in your 40's and beyond?

Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality said...

Happy Birthday, Kristen! I'm one of your OLDer readers, from seeing all the comments, at 53. But, I have to say I'm proud of every one of them, since age does bring some wisdom with it, thankfully. :)

Sometimes I wake up & say, how did I get to this age, it's just not possible. But, you take what comes with every birthday. As the old saying goes...it's better than the alternative.

Oh, one more thing. I think my body was in the best shape at 35, it does start going downhill after that, at least for me it did. But, as long as you exercise & eat well, that really helps with staying as young as possible. You didn't ask for a book, did you?!

Oh, and whoever started that rumor that 40 is the new 20 is smoking crack!

You are just 2 sweet months younger than I am! Crazy but this year was the first year I actually acknowledged (told my kids) that I was no longer 29. :o) That fuzzy math is where homeschooling pays off! My eldest was actually getting wise on me..... The math just wasn't working and she is insanely curious that things just make sence! SO, instead of just dodging the issue or pointing to something shiney (doesn't work like it used to; UGH!) I just told them. No biggie though they forgot within the day and haven't asked my age since! Funny how they remeber some things but not others! For me the number 37 was a bit crazy because it is getting so close to the big 40! That's OK my sister played a joke on me and baked me a cake, placed a #40 on the cake and posted it on facebook. Besides having to tell everyone I AM NOT 40, 37 didn't seem so bad after that. Happy Birthday!

Great Grandma just turned 75 this year I asked her what that feels like and she said she feels the same as she always did, sometimes she looks in the mirror and wonders who is that wrinklly faced lady.

I am 31. The sad part is I had to pull out the calculator because I always seem to forget how old I am....

Happy Birthday! I hope it is a great fun-filled day.

I'm twenty-nineteen. I wasn't feeling old until I read your post and all the young commenters. Actually, I'll be 40 in July and I'm really looking forward to my forties.

I thought that I was 37 until my dh told me that I was 38. THEN my sister confirmed that I really was only 37! I am so confused! Is that a sign of old age? lol
