Hope Your Weekend is a Disaster!

Hehe.

Well. If not disastrous, here's to hoping it's full of THAT family moments so you can link up & share a story about your family being THAT family! I'm making it worth the effort with some serious sweet prizes (more than 10!)

Next Thursday, Oct. 22.

Got 2 of 4 kids all dress in their costumes. One spent the entire time screaming and crying because her shoes didn't work with her costume. Just about to head out the door when we found out the event we were going to was canceled. How did we find out? I had to stop during the crying and post the drama on face book while it was still going on! All the fussing and screaming so we could go have a "fun time" for nothing. Does that make us "That" family? LOL! I'll have to come up with a post about it and link in to the carnival ... maybe it will make me feel better if I see that we're not the only "That" family out there ~giggle~

I went to JC Pennys today to get my hubby their shorts that are half price and met this man who began talking to me, and me being a stupid, overly friendly, prek teacher, I began talking back. Just friendly chit-chat. I got in my car and drove to Target. That same guy showed up, asking me to try random sweaters and stuff on and wanting to change me. I showed off my ring and told him I was indeed married. Then he left, I got on the phone with my granny (aka my "mama")and told her about this guy following me, then he shows up again and wants to buy the stuff in my cart for them. I kindly thanked him and said no. 10 minutes later he was following me around the store. I drove off to Hobby Lobby, he began following me there to. So, I walked to Lane Bryant - he surely wouldn't go in there right, and my husband was only 25 minutes from home, so it'd be okay. Well, my husband called the cops and 2 MALE police men walked into the store while I was in the changing room and demanded me to come out as is - blue jeans and bra - to make sure I was okay. I was soooo emberassed, and the store was packed. They took down my information, after I was able to put a shirt on, my husband showed up and he bought me 300 dollars worth of clothes. Supposedly after I walked into that store the dude ran for it or something. Is it only me...why do I find all the WEIRDOS???

This probably isn't what you were looking for, but my grandma had a stroke last night. After hearing that she was declining rapidly throughout the day, I called the nurses station to see if I could bring my 3 daughters up to give thier home-made cards to their great-grandma while they still have a chance. I was told that accommodations could be made to do that (because they are under the required age of 12.)

So, I am the mom who brings my 3 healthy young girls with me to the CCU to wish their great-grandma get well and also see her declining in order to prepare them for what is yet to come. After getting there, my family and the nurses were basically horrified that I would bring 3 healthy children into a hospital full of germs and, no, absolutely they cannot see her.

Even though it all worked out in a way that God orchestrated for me to spend time alone with my grandma and my children did not see her at all, I would say this weekend already qualifies for disaster.

We are going apple picking tomorrow, because just yesterday my grandma was excited that we were going to do that with the kids. She'd want us to still go. But she may very well die this weekend.

I blogged about our change of plans this weekend. But then on the way to work, my son threw up all over himself and me. I will blog about that later. Here is the link to my "Perfectly Planned Weekend"
