Sincerely 'Fro Me to You-30 Years Ago

Welcome to this week's Sincerely 'Fro Me to You Carnival. If you want to join in, you can read the guidelines here.  Last week, I had so much fun reading your posts.  (You guys are funny!) So, I'm looking forward to what you've got!

I knew I had this picture somewhere.

I searched high and low.  Low and high.

It offers true proof of an early addiction that has plagued me for thirty years.

30 years, people!

I'M- A- C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E  -L-O-V-E-R!!

This is a photo my twin sister and I when we were five years old.  My dad is helping us make a chocolate cake for our Mom for Mother's Day.  Mother's Day thirty years ago! (My hubby took one glance at this picture and called me the Big Twin.  'I'm on a chair, she is not," I explained.  His look showed his doubt.)

Can you see that glint in my eye?  I'm not really there for the cooking lesson or for the gift- giving. I'm there for the chocolate.

And, I have a knife in my hand.

So, watch out.

Chocolate is like my BFF and we're pretty tight.  I still eat it regularly,  knife, and all.

Back away from my chocolate and no one will get hurt.

Not much has changed in 30 years, except I'm the mother now and I'm somewhat bigger.

You know, from all the child-birthing and the chocolate.

I knew you were standing on a chair, I mean you had to be on a chair. Right?

There is nothing better than licking the bowl after making Chocolate cake or Brownies. :)

Oh dang. Think I accidentally deleted my comment.

Some things never change! :D

You will seriously get a giggle out of my post. I also searched for my picture high & low. I knew I had it somewhere. Our middle child is "strangling" our littlest. When I saw your picture, I immediately thought of this one. Thanks for sharing! Thanks for the memories.

I think I'm gonna have to see the therapist double this week. :D

I'm still laughing at the "big twin" comment. I can understand your love of chocolate. What else can compare to the beauty of chocolate?

Very cute pic! And I'm with you on the chocolate! That's why the word is in my blog name. In fact, my post today is about chocolate, so you might like it! I wasn't prepared to join in your carnival this time, but will try to in the future.

I love some chocolate too! The only thing better than chocolate on a knife is chocolate on a spoon with peanut butter!

Ooooh, makes me want to bake some brownies so I can lick half the batter from a spoon...Yummy! Cute pic! And I would say 'taller' not 'bigger' anyway! I feel your pain, my older sister is smaller...I mean shorter...than me! ;O)

Oh, crud. I don't know why the preemie story thing popped up. Darn it!

Dude, if my sister was after my chocolate, I'd use a knife in a threatening manner, too.

Gotta love the chocolate. Great pictures too.

My daughter is obsessed with chocolate too. I don't know WHERE she gets it. ;)

When we have cake on the rare occasion, my son just scraped off the frosting and eats it. His birthday is coming up and I'm seriously considering simply shaping something out of frosting and whipped cream for him.

World's Greatest Mommy said...

Adorable picture. I was obsessed with brown sugar. I still go a little overboard on the oatmeal.

I was very brave and posted a couple of pics from 6th and 7th grade. Don't laugh too hard.

Thanks for letting me participate!

I will definitely be linking up my Flashback Friday post when it goes up later tonight - found some GREAT old pics (well, great in that they're old and I've not seen them in years, not great as in they offer proof positive that my hair has always been possessed by the DEVIL!)

Great pic!

Thanks for the opportunity to play along. I just started my blog two days ago and you've given me a great opportunity to post my first pic.

I was spitting soda when I read what your husband said about being the bigger twin!

I always let my kids like the spoons, but now I'm gonna have to start taking pictures of them doing it. Who knew those pics could come in handy one day?

The very first thought that popped into my head when I saw that picture was, "Wow! You really were the bigger twin!" ...even though I knew you must be standing on a chair! I'm so glad your hubby was thoughtful enough to point that out to you. Hee-hee!

You go for that chocolate, girl and don't let anyone get in your way!
When my daughter was about three, she put her tiny little hands on my cheeks, looked into my eyes and said, "Mommy, I just love...chocolate." !

I've been by here about 80 times today linking to other participants. Finally just felt RUDE to not stop by and say hi.

The big twin! LOL! I just updated my post (yes, Thursday is practically over in blog world) to include the link to your blog. Duh! Sorry about that (you know, if you read it earlier and were like, Uh, great, but something is missing?).

Happy mother's day from another crazed chocolate lover.

You're hilarious! I would LOVE to do the Sincerely Fro Me To You... I just haven't bothered to dig out pics and scan quite yet! One day...

Until then I LOVE reading yours!! :)

Great photo! We are obviously within a year as far as age and love seeing those pics, the clothes, the hair...

I am going to have to go search out some of the pics from when I was 5.

Unfortunately my mother wasn't and isn't a camera person, she loves photos but using a camera is somehow beyond her and this is a woman with several degrees...

would love to hear more about that..hope you can indulge us and write a post on that one too..

So is your twin identical? Doesn't look like it, but you never know. Who's older? How cute that you were helping daddy make a cake for mothers day.
My man always takes the kiddos out to help shop for mothers day.
I love that he takes the time to do that for me.
Perhaps next week, i'll be ready to participate in fro me to you...
still working up my nerve.

How cute are you? I tried to add your fro pic to my blog but couldn't figure it out. I cheated! I posted a pic of Happy Mommy this time. I promise to follow the rules next Thursday!
