I showed y'all my rarely used old formal dining room turned home office a few months ago.
It's a popular place in my house. We all love hanging out in there.
It's right off the entry to the front door, so I like to keep it organized.
Here are a couple of tips:
Decorative boxes are genius. I love these inexpensive cardboard paper-hiders. I got them for a couple of dollars each at Ikea, but I've seen them at WalMart, Target and even the Dollar Store!
One box contains my kid's Lego Necklace Business, one holds our correspondence with our Compassion kids, while the others contain bills, cords, greeting cards, photos, etc.
And the cute skirt (a former single curtain that I split down the middle and used Velcro to keep it in place) hides my printer, my hubby's work printer, a file cabinet and even my toddler during games of hide 'n seek.
But you'll have to get your own dust bunnies.
Organized hiding (also known as camouflaging your junk) works for me!

I love this storage system! Maybe I can make it work for me, too!
LOL! Love the title "Organized Hiding"! :D
Your home office is lovely! What a great place to blog the day away.
"I showed y'all"
Totally something I would say. I suspect you and I would get along fabulously. That phrase made me smile. =)
Hmmm...can you come over here and hide my dust bunnies, too?
This is such a smart solution! I'm with Bridget though, can you help me!
oh my word. I so need you to come hide my junk too. I sooooooo need that.
well done. I think I just need to put a big sheet over my entire dining/living room because it is really a hodge podged play room.
I love all of your inexpensive storage and hiding area. I'm having my first ever party and it just so happens to be an Organizing party. I would love for you to come and join if you have the time. Thanks!
Gorgeous! I love your black and red color scheme. Really dramatic.
Thanks again for hosting. :~D
I am going to see if I can convert our old kitchen table into a desk/hideaway. Thanks for the inspiration. I saw your post on your new home office, but I didn't see the possiblities for hiding!
I LOVE black and white- and its really lovely jazzed up with the red! Very nice!
Would love to see a closer view of the shelves! Wondering where to find them or how you make them ;-)
Very pretty look, love it!
You made me want to redesign my space! We do a lot of "hiding" around here, too!
"Camoflaging the junk" LOVE IT! :)
Someone has some fantastic taste in fabric - very Sassy pattern you have there! *dreamy sigh* I can't wait to move back to the States and visit JoAnn fabrics!!
Thank you for hosting!
GREAT storage ideas! I just need the shelves to get it done. I love organized hiding!!! =)
Love the desk skirt -- I've gotta try that! God bless!
I love this! We've been doing this for a while now too and it's worked wonderfully for us!
We've even created a box for the "junk drawer" type stuff. It freed up two drawers in my tiny kitchen and we go through it once a week or so to make sure nothing important got shoved in there!
Really helps with cutting clutter!
Looks awesome! I did something similar with my changing table YEARS ago, make a shirt to go around the outside and secured it with velcro :) Thanks for hosting, this is my first time here!
Looks GREAT!! Good for you for making the most of your space even if it's not traditional!!
What a cute office!
LOVE the skirt around the desk! I would never have thought of it!! Cute!!
Beautiful!! I, too, want to know where you bought your shelves. That's exactly the sort of thing I have been wanting!!
Oh wow...I just love your room...especially the colors and your chandelier. Very inspiring :D
Fondly, Roberta
That's a great idea! I'll have to pick up a couple of those.
It sure beats stuffing everything into the oven when I find out my inlaws are coming over... in five minutes!!!
Thanks for the tip!
I love hidden storage! Your office looks so nice!
Love that!
