WFMW- Backwards Edition

I love Backwards WFMW! It's my turn to ask you a question.

So, without further ado, do you know where my keys are? Because I. Cannot. Find. Them.

Ha! Just kidding. I mean, I really can't find them, but that's not my question.

Last week, I shared Swagbucks with you. I wanted to thank everyone who signed up. I also wanted to tell you another tidbit I learned: for every person who signs up (like your readers or friends who sign up under you) you earn what they earn up to 100 Swagbucks!

So, for example, many of you signed up to earn your own under me. I had 109 Swagbucks last Wednesday... and as of publishing this post, I have 1,344! Yes, you read that correctly, ONE-THOUSAND-THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOUR. I am so saving them for Christmas next year!!

I think the majority of them came from referrals, so tell your people/readers/family!

If you're still wondering, Y'all, Swagbucks really works.

And that's my question, what other programs truly work to help you save money, cut back, etc? A friend of mine mentioned Ebates, and I'm looking into it, but are there any others I'm missing out on?

PLEASE NOTE: For the last several weeks, I've had to delete many links because blogs linked to their homepage and not permalink (Don't know what I'm talking about? Read here). In order to make WFMW truly searchable weeks after it's published, I have to delete and it kills me to do so. Please make sure you are linking to your permalink.

Thank you for joining me for WFMW! {You can read the guidelines here.}

Have a Works-For-Me Wednesday tip you'd like to share? I'd love for you to join us! Please note that the links will close on Thursday, in order to keep away the spammers!

WOW! I'm first!!! I can't think of any that work, but I did sign up with Swag Bucks after reading your post. I have 6 so far. =) So, thanks for telling me about them!

Sheila said...

Love Swag Bucks! Thanks for that comment!

I've never figured out what internet things really save you money. I'd love to hear more, though!

We save money by shopping at second hand stores, buying in bulk, making handmade gifts, etc. etc.

And I've always figured that a woman who stays at home with creative kids can basically earn the equivalent of an income simply by figuring out creative ways to save!

Even if one of those creative ways is visiting this blog and figuring out what everyone else has to say...

Thanks for the encouragement!

Visit To Love, Honor and Vacuum today!

I've been an avid user and big FAN of upromise.com for about 7 years! I have earned literally thousands of dollars through them. :D You can see their little logo on some grocery items sometimes. You can find all the info on their website...have fun! ;)

LOVIN your swagbucks story!! I jumped on that band wagon right before Christmas, but next Christmas is my big goal!! But AWESOME job & CONGRATS to you!! I like Ebates alot too!

www.thegrocerygame.com saves me a ton. It pairs coupons and sales and helps me save at grocery and drug stores. If you sign up help a sista out and sign up under me. I get free weeks ;)

Great job on getting so many swagbucks!
I'd say BigCrumbs is another great program to earn money - similar to eBates but has higher % cashback on a lot of stores- and you earn $$ on your referrals when they shop! Many have earned in the thousands - esp if you're an ebay shopper or seller!
I haven't cause I haven't promoted it much and only have 3 referrals right now.
They pay every month no matter how much you've earned.

www.retailmenot.com

I almost always go there before I checkout when ordering online because they almost always have some kind of promo or coupon code! It may not save a TON but when I can save $5 here and $5 there on shipping, or a certain % off, I'm gonna go for it!

I'm enjoying catching up on your blog tonight! Fun read! :)

I am just learning how cool Shop At Home is (www.shopathome.com)--it's a cash-back program similar to Ebates...you earn $5 for referrals from friends/family, etc as well as cash back from your purchases.

The big difference from Ebates, though, is that you can get a check when your acct reaches $20 (unlike Ebates 1x/quarter)

I do like mypoints.com and have earned points for many a Starbucks card from them! Only do it if you can handle all the e-mails though and have a separate folder set up for it (clicking on the links in e-mails, taking advantage of offers, shopping, etc is how you earn points).

Annie Kate said...

Love the Swagbucks story. We have contributed 13 to your huge amount! :)

Even without referrals, we'll be doing well this year, but I'm planning a Swagbucks post myself. Thanks for the examples.

If you go for any of the other programs listed in the comments, please blog about them. I don't like to sign up for things unless I 'know' the people promoting them.

I signed up for Swagbucks last week - thanks for the tip!

Love Swagbucks! I've tried several of the points/survey companies but haven't gotten much out of them.

Like an earlier commenter, I use retailmenot.com for discount codes. Couponsherpa.com has some great codes, too.

I play the Ebates game (earned about $85 so far) but my favorite is Alice.com. You can read my take on it on my blog post:

Thanks for all the helpful advice!

Shopathome.com is my new favorite. It's similar to ebates, but I like it better. They have (through Christmas shopping at least) specials where different retailers jack their percentages up WAY higher than anyone else so it made shopping even better through all of the holiday deals! And like someone above mentioned, you get a check at $20.

Beth@Not a Bow in Sight said...

I play the Grocery Game. It definitely works for me! I save between 30-60% on groceries each week (literally on my Kroger receipt is says you saved 30-60%). It's fabulous!

Tracey said...

I use Ebates and My Points and have earned rewards pretty quickly from both. Haven't tried Swagbucks, but it sounds like I should! :)

Britta said...

I use Swagbucks and i also use lockerz which is similar to Swagbucks, you get points for logging in and for answering a daily question (ex. what is your favorite movie)You can turn in your points for items such as video games, computers, wii's etc You can only join lockerz thru an invite so if anyone is interested you can email me at bkokc00@gmail.com and i will send you an invite.

Ginny said...

I love Swagbucks & Ebates! There are others similar ~ bigcrumbs, shop at home & a few others. They work on referrals as well.

Mypoints is another program I like

Cathy said...

Theres a book for that. "It's Hard to Make a Difference When You Can't Find Your Keys" It's actually pretty good. :)

Anonymous said...

Wow! That's awesome about your Swagbucks. Have you found your keys yet? :-) Thanks so much for hosting the party again this week.

Love SouthernSavers.com It does the same thing as the grocery game, but without the charge. Plus she also lays out a real game plan to help you get the most from your coupons. I went to one of her coupon classes, it was quite inspirational.

Queen Bee said...

LOVE LOVE LOVE Swagbucks. Maybe I need to advertise it. LOL. I could use those kinda bucks!

But that aside. I don't know any program but am always searching. But I do love Walgreens Register Rewards. Cash back for buying things I need anyway. Equal free stuff!!

Jane Anne said...

No new tips from me. However, you have my attention. I am going to find your Swagbucks post and check into it. I keep hearing about it and continue to fail to make time to check it out.

eBates and Shopathome are good shopping sites, a new one that I like is LiliDeals. LiliDeals has over 1,1,00 stores and gives you a bonus just for signing up!

Nanell said...

many of the previose posted posted alot I use. Been doing mypoints for 10 years and love them but the points are not what they used to be. Swagbucks is my fav. even without alot of referals (i have 1) I have been getting a $5 amazon gc every 10-11 days hat sure ads up for christmas.

I also use Upromise, great wasy to save money for kid college threw online shopping. Threw cellfire.com and shortcuts.com you can link coupon direct to your store cards and still use coupon in store and get lots free.

Also check out bing.com cashback. go to bing and search cashback. They offer a % cashback for online purchases and pay threw paypal fast. I have seen and used up to 30% cashback on ebay. But look through all the site you can get cashback you will be srprised. The % seems higher that ebates and other similar rebate programs.
