WFMW-It's All in the Bag

I have a quick and easy tip for you guys this week!

Summer is in full swing and we are spending a lot of time at the pool. We've got more wet towels and swimsuits than people in our house.

I keep our swim bag in the laundry room and when I pull clean beach towels and swim gear out of the dryer or from hanging out to dry, I fold them and put them directly in the pool bag.

My kids are usually so excited about the thought of going swimming, they aren't very helpful in the gathering and packing.

So, we always have a bag ready to go for the pool, so we can take a dip at a moment's notice.

Which would be now!

{Thank you for joining me for WFMW! You can read the guidelines here.}

I keep a packed pool bag, too! A tremendous help!

That is a fab idea! I've been washing and washing and washing - why haven't I thought of that?

GREAT idea for me! Thank you!

Blessings to you!

Super idea. I actually have beach towels/suits in the dryer right now!! Doing this in the morning. Thanks for sharing and for hosting!

Nice! Thanks for the right out of the dryer tip-that makes sense d'oh!

Great idea!

Sorry, Mr Linky confused me and I posted my link twice.

Ah! Your tip reminded me to go find the pool bag I left in the car- full of wet swimsuits and towels- since yesterday. yuck.

Teri Lynne Underwood said...

We also keep a pool/beach bag. And, after our recent Disney trip, have decided we need an amusement park bag with enough rain ponchos for everyone!! :)

RLR said...

We do the same thing - what a time saver! Check out my timesaving WFMW post, too - #51!

Thanks for hosting! My tip this week is about free-cycling envelopes. Can't wait to go read everyone else's tips!

I can't believe how quickly WFMW's come around!!! We do this too - I wrote a post ages ago on the se7en bags we keep at the ready - packed and good to go! Swimming, soccer, library and so on... here's the link if you are keen: http://www.se7en.org.za/2008/08/21/getting-out-with-se7en-se7en-bags

I like this idea...thanks! :)

I used to do this when we lived in our old house and went to the pool. Even though we have a pool at home know, that bag carries on. There's one packed with library essentials, one with Bibles and stuff headed to church on Sunday etc... I bought a nice set of super sturdy and (large) tote bags just for the purpose of keeping them packed for where they would be going. Saves so much time and searching at the last minute and frustration on everyone's part.

Great idea!

Very smart! Sometimes getting ready to go out can be very stressful!

Just noticed my typo - my tip is #52. Hope Lisa got some good traffic :)

Melissa said...

nice! I live in Florida and between the beach and the pool we are always in bathing suits! This could help eliminate some of the hassle! Thanks!

Heather said...

Good idea:) I hate the wet mess hanging in the bathrooms anyway. I should collect at once.

Great idea! We've started using the pool at our complex a lot this summer (more in the past two weeks than in the previous 4 years we've lived here!), so this will come in handy! :D

Lori said...

Great idea! And then you aren't running around wondering what you forgot!

lorena bee said...

Reminds me of the "lake bag" at G-ma's house. :) Our kids and us all swim at different times and days, so each kid has their own bag and age-appropriate responsibility for it.

Thanks for hosting WFMW this week!

I am so sorry. I added the wrong link to my first attempt #209. Please feel free to delete it.
Thanks!

'Becca said...

Great idea! I'll have to try it...if it ever gets warm enough for swimming here in Pennsylvania! My son's swimsuit does not seem to fit in the drawer and keeps popping out, so this would solve that problem too.

Veggiemomof2 said...

We do the same thing!

Erin @ Closing Time said...

That is a great idea! So much better than scrambling to find all the pieces of the swimsuits (which is what tends to happen around here)!!

I love your WFMW posts and love reading others as well! Thanks for hosting!
