Mrs. Kravitz

My two year old has a thing for the neighbors.

On both sides of us. And the house behind us.

Okay, really the entire street.

She calls each family member by name.

She asks me what they are having for dinner and if they are home from work yet.

She peeks thru the window and asks "What dey doing, Momma? What dey doing now?"

It's like living with Mrs. Kravitz (except mine has tantrums and insists on everything being pink).

She's not messing around. Spying on tip toes is for professionals only.

I think the resemblance is uncanny, really.

Love it!! We tell our kids all the time, it's fine to say hello to the neighbors but stop staring and please stop asking them what they are doing every 2 minutes!!!

Guess it's just part of being in the society!

I was actually thinking...
she is too little for that.
Even though I knew what the title meant... I remember Mrs. Kravitz and the whole I Dream of Jeannie crowd.

Then I saw her on her tip-toes and read what she asks... the resemblance is uncanny.

ToOdLeS.

That's hilarious. My kids ask me who everyone is that walks past our house. Not sure...didn't ask for ID before they passed...

Truth be told though, I often know who it is. Small town.

My daughters are stalkers....

they wait until the veeerrrryyy moment their friends cars pull in and ask "can we go ask them to go play now?"

"no they just got home" 2 seconds later..."how about now"...

You get the idea... :)

Love it!! When my daughter was that age she would sit at the front window around 5 pm every evening and wave to the cars ... "Hi Mr. Reed" "Hi Ms. Wanda" etc. Then when every car she recognized had passed she would get up and go back to playing. It took me a few days to figure out what was going on. Kids are hilarious - and very observant!!!

My kids do the same thing. We had new neighbors move in and when we finally got a chance to meat them, the dad says "Oh, that's the boy that watches me out the window." Great! Now we're the family with the kids that stare out the window. Oh well, could be worse!

Hilarious! Also, my mother and I still use the Mrs. Kravitz reference when someone's being nosy!

A serious case of "Harriet the Spy." The book is fa-ar better than the movie! My kids were like this until we had neighbors move in next door with a two year old and a four year old who literally hung through our windows to see what we were up to... since then I retrained mine to be slightly stealthier observers!!!

That's a riot. My toddler does the same thing. :)

Adorable....I love it! What a precious girl.
We once had neighbors named: Mr. Shoe and another named Mr. McGee (but my son called him Mr. Piggy). One day, my son said , "I do not understand our neighbors. Mr. Shoe is called Mr. Shoe but he is not a shoe and Mr. Piggy is called Mr. Piggy but he is not a pig." This son just turned 18 and he is still Mr. Literal. Ha.

Too cute! I distinctly remember Mrs. Kravitz having tantrums, especially when Abner didn't believe all the crazy stuff going on over at the Sephen's house!

How cute!! Also you have me an idea for my grandsons play house. I love the picket fence idea for the sides. We have plywood up but it is too enclosed unless I cut a hole or window.

MAN, you went all old school with the pic of the OLD Mrs. Kravitz!!! The Mrs. K int he color episodes was MUCH less, shall we say, unfortunate looking!

Hilarious! I wonder if that's a girl thing. My boys don't do this. You need to get her a little periscope. :)
