On. Your. Mark.
Go.
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that my three kiddos can pile into sleeping bags, race down the stairs over and over and declare it the best day ever, without getting hurt?
But these same children cannot walk into the kitchen without slipping on a drop of water and end up in the Emergency Room in a Cat Scan tube with a concussion?
They take my breath away.

Oh my gosh so true! Does look fun though! I have an award for you at my blog!
I just found you blog....it's so great!
I remember doing this growing up.
I can't believe that my boys haven't tried it yet! I can't say that landing on our tile would be very enjoyable...
Best to keep them out of the ER at all costs!
Funny how they can do very dangerous stuff and be fine and the most common thing can cause them to get hurt, it happens here too, its not just your family it's mine too. I have missed your blog the most during my blog writing and reading break. I am glad you all seem to be doing well.
They are crazy! I would so tumble!

That is soooo my house!
I have 3 boys - and it's the same in my house. It's a wonder they don't break their necks! I just tell myself: "they're having fun, they're playing together (and not fighting), and I can get a little bit of cleaning done while they are sledding."
My sister and I declared many a day THE BEST DAY EVER because we spent hours sliding down our basement stairs on old mats...lol It is fun!
My kids are the same way - I totally get ya.
That is so funny! The pictures are adorable.
Those pictures are GREAT! We might need to move to a house with stairs! ;)
That's great, even though stairs totally scare me!
LOL...I remember doing this at friends' houses. ( Our house didn't have stairs ). Love the action shots!
So cute! I remember doing this as a kid, but we used big unfolded cardboard boxes. At least the sleeping bags provide a little cushioning!
I loved doing that as a kid...only we had wood stairs and w/ a slippery sleeping bag, it got kinda dangerous!
My kids loved to do this, too, until my daughter got turned around on the way down and hit her head on the door at the bottom of the stairs. The resulting wound took four staples to close. That was the end of the stair sliding!
Oh...I use to love to do that as a kid...all the time and my stair would curve...memories.

Awesome!
Had some rainy days at your house lately??? Not able to go outside and "get the ants out of their pants" as I call it.
They look like they are having a great time. You are a brave woman!
That cracks me up! That is kids for you! What a great set of pictures you were able to capture!
What a great mom that instead of trying to stop them from doing something so crazy, you took photos! That sounds like something I would do! =]
Looks like so much fun....I am glad we don't have full set of stairs because my kids would probably love to do this too!!!! And my son is so accident prone....once he tripped over a little thomas train and got a hairline fracture in his leg---just from that little train!!!!!
LoL! Me and my sister used to do this when we were younger. In a condo though... doubt the neighbors cared we were having fun.
my 5 y/o likes to jump from the highest possible step to the landing. talk about heart attacks. and he *knocks wood* has not hurt himself yet!!
Sounds like fun! My daughter and I were talking about mattress surfing on the stairs the other day. Methinks I see a rainy day boredom buster in this post!
Were you cringing there with your camera? I'm thinking they did it a hundred times and you decided to document it. Looks like so much fun. I can hear them squeal from here.
My kids do this, too. That's how we got a big hole in the wall at the bottom of the stairs. But hey..the wall stopped them!
When my oldest, now 21, was four...he took a sled down the stairs. Scared me near to death and all he could do was ask if he could do it again...uh..NO!
My cousins and I did this as kids, and just like your kids, all day!!! Those really were some of the best days...

My kids do this all the time! They love to take the couch pillows and put them at the bottom of the stairs to crash into and roll around laughing at all the fun!
LOVE THIS!!! Your kids are going to remember a FUN childhood among many other wonderful things. Brings a smile to my face to see these pictures! :)
My kids do this, too (but only when hubby isn't home)! I am always worried that someone will get hurt, especially when they have friends over! I'd feel terrible if they got hurt while in my care! Don't you just love these moments and want to take a "picture" to keep in your mind forever?
My kids are still doing this and the oldest is 17. When you live in a rural area you need cheap thrills
Too funny! My boys put their sleepers with feet on and race down the stairs, feet first on their bellies. I have the funniest videos...maybe I should send them in?
So funny - I remember doing the exact same thing with my brothers when we are kids.....but I am not sure I could let my kids do the same! Why is that?
I know this was a while ago - my kids did the same thing and we did end up in the ER and several cat scans...for 6 weeks he had what they finally called a post trauma concussion - blah blah blah! LOL
And any other time...years and years of soccer and never got hurt.
LOL!! Glad they enjoyed it!
The writer of www.wearethatfamily.com has written a superior article. I got your point and there is nothing to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not disagree with: Civilization is both man's greatest accomplishment and his greatest failure. I will be back.
