I took my daughter for a haircut. Her now 9-year-old tresses needed a trim.
She left like this:
I wish I could share the audio of my hubby when he saw her.
And a picture of the look he gave me. Ouch.
He was so relieved when we let him in on our secret.
I'll tell you too {it's just a fancy pink-colored hair clip that looks very real}.
Heart attack avoided.
And cool Mom inserted.
Y'all have a happy weekend, okay?

I love it. I bet your husband did have a small fit! Very cool mom! Did you let her wear it to school today?
I almost had a heart attack when I realized that if MY 9 yr old saw that picture, she'd be on me forEVER! But I like that it's a clip on thingy - I might just have to be a cool mom, too!
That is funny! It reminds me of the angry looks and silent treatment my sister and I received when we went with the fake tatoos and fake nose rings. Good times, good times. :D
Very cool! I am gonna have big trouble when my girls get that age, cause I will be all like "it's just hair, go for it" and my man will be all like "Huh!?!?!? I don't think so!!!"
But the clippy thing may just save our marriage!
I want one for my crazy 29 year old hair. :-)
Boy let me tell you a little story. Once I went to the salon to get my hair done and when the girl rinsed it, my WHOLE HEAD looked like that.... I WISH it had been a little clip. I ended up having to dye my hair black cherry to fix it and even still you could see hot pink in the sunlight.
I wish I had a picture of the look on my face when I saw it.
Syd has begged for a year for some streak in her hair. I told her we could do it, but then she chickens out. I don't think it would look very good anyway in her dark brown hair. Maybe I need to get her a clip. :)
We have these little clips --love them!
I gave you an award bundle!
Aww... I love it!
That was a good one!
When I was little my mother had hair down to her waist. She bought a VERY short haired wig and played a joke on my dad...it was so funny!
You are TOO cool! :)
I think it looks adorable!
I took my daughter to my hairdresser for her 5th birthday and she got hot pink highlights in her long blonde hair and they were gorgeous!! They lasted for 6 weeks. By the end it was just the merest hint of pink but she loved them!
You are SO cool! Wish I were as cool as you - our school won't let the kids have "colors" in their hair. I'm sure my DH would have more than a few words to say anyway......
THIS household actually has a pink hair stick thingy that puts a nice pink streak ON the hair. Because I am cool too! (I think)
This past summer I took my oldest to get a summer cut and he got a temporary black streak on his blonde hair. He thought he was the bomb and I was the coolest mom ever.
Lol. Thats great.
Great compromise...everyone wins! he looks so cute, btw!
Hmm....my 10 year old needs a haircut. I wonder how my hubby would react?
You have to pick your battles and I think hair is the least of a parent's worries. It's not permanent at least! I love her look! I think those clips are great.
at my blog I have my favorite pics from 2008 the last one is my girls, my oldest works at a very trendy hair salon where I dropped off my year old to get her hair done for Christmas pics, I ran to The Gap to get a gift and came back to a 9 year old that wasn't ready for any Christmas picture I was willing to mail to her grandparents, it was also a clip in
LOL I bet the look you got from your hubby was somewhat similar to the look I got from mine when he found our daughter in the process of turning her hair pink. Only hers is real! She wants to try blue next. We'll see.
