I May Need an Intervention

Samoas® or Caramel deLites®
My daughter is a Girl Scout. She's in the program to earn badges, build character, and change the world.

I'm all about the cookies {that are only sold this time of year}.

I start to panic when I think about RUNNING OUT.

I've ordered 15 boxes of these. Do you think that's enough?

Those are my favorite!!!!! I could eat the whole box! Which is why I told my daughter NO when she wanted me to order them from somebody. :)

Those are my favorite!!! I try not to order too many because noone else on my family likes them~~they are thin mint people~~and I end up eating them all myself~~ and then they are around for the rest of the year on my thighs and bum!:) But I think 15 boxes should get you started~~~ that is not a box a week for the year!! But if you run out, you know there will always be some being sold after the campaign in front of stores! So stock up then!!

No one has come by my house yet. Someone please send the Girl Scouts my way. I need cookies!

I have eaten an entire box, which is why they are banned from our house. I can handle having Thin Mints around, but not Samoas. That is the name, right? I have read they go by different names depending on where they are sold.

I propose you buy a freezer to dedicate to GS cookies. That way, you can be sure not to run out before next year's cookie sale.

Oh, thank goodness I had boys, because if I was exposed to that temptation I would order 52 boxes, one for each week of the year and my diet would be nonexistent. Those are my all time favorite cookies.

Mercy to Goodess, I'd have to craft a wide and long bench for my side of the table if I had my very own girl scout.

They're my favorites, too, and I could eat a box a day, and I'm completely serious.

There's a cookie here called "all abouts" or "thanks a lots". Buy at least one of those. Put a toasted marshmallow between two of them...it'll be the best s'more you've ever eaten.

Two words - BUY MORE!

Heidi said...

you could be short changing your cookie eating needs. I would go with 17 boxes.

There are never enough Samoas to go around. They have always been my fave (since I was a brownie, way back when) and I was so happy to learn last year that NO ONE in my house likes them b/c of the coconut! YEAH, for me!!! Enjoy them.

Let's see 15 boxes should last about 3 or 4 days......

I don't think you ordered enough. You should buy more and freeze them!

Oh my!! I LOVE them too. I need to stock up!

If that's 15 boxes for yourself, then that's probably enough.

If you're expected to share with your family, I'd get a couple more.

Remember, they only sell them once a year!

I can't resist the Thin Mints or the Lemon ones or the....

A funny story about GS cookies: A lady I know always kept a large stock in her freezer. Cookie selling time was about to roll around again and she decided to clean out the old so there'd be room for the new. So she carted all the boxes to school and left them in the teacher's lounge to be enjoyed by her colleagues. And guess what--all the boxes were EMPTY. Her family was eating (devouring) them and leaving the boxes in the freezer so she wouldn't know the depths of their piggishness!

We are selling cookies also. The thin mints are my favorite.

No it's not enough!!! At least not for me!! With my husband being deployed this year I'm in trouble. He was the one that would intervene --I'm almost as weak with Thin Mints.

Two words: THIN MINTS.

And, I've found a recipe for cookies that tastes JUST like them so I can eat them year-round!!!

Tanya said...

I didn't know they were on sale now!! WHERE CAN I FIND A GIRL SCOUT???? Seriously. Someone tell me where I can buy those cookies!

Anonymous said...

Have you ever tried this after putting them in the refrigerator??!!!!!

missy said...

15 will last you a couple of weeks, at least. have you discovered Edy's Ice cream in Girl Scout cookie flavors? They have a Samoa flavored one that is AMAZING.

Lucrecia said...

I'm fairly certain they put crack in those! I can taste them just by looking at the picture here! My daughter starts next year, I'm very afraid!

I ordered 7 boxes from my next door neighbor. As I was filling in my order, I noticed that the rest of the neighbors only ordered one or two boxes.

Hmmm...kind of embarassing huh??

I love those too!! And I just ran across a recipe for them yesterday online. http://bakingbites.com/2008/01
/homemade-girl-scout-cookies-samoas/

Check it out...they look great!! I'm gonna have to try them soon.

Trista said...

I LURVE those and just emailed my neighbor to see if her daughter is selling them.

CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on some of them!

UtahJenny said...

Those are my faves, too ... so, should we check back for a giveaway??? hee hee

I think you should buy 15 more boxes!

Amy said...

I try to limit myself to just 2 boxes each year. Anything more than that and I'd pack on at least 5 lbs.

RefreshMom said...

It's really bad for me as the ones I like the best (Samoas and Thin Mints) are ones that DH doesn't like at all. Of course, the kids do, but they don't know what I keep stashed in the freezer where they can't see!

I live on a military base where the girl scouts are not allowed to sell door to door. I go to supermarkets and WalMarts looking for those little tables with the hopes that I'll be able to stock up. So the next time you think you're feeling a little off center think of me - driving around town like a mad woman on a hunt for her crack cookies! Argh. Does she ship out orders? LOL

Yep there that good..better you then me.

If you've ordered Thin Mints than surely you need another 5 boxes....

Michelle said...

I limited to myself to two boxes of Samoas but ordered 4 other boxes. Both my husband and I love Girl Scout cookies but we would eat them all at once so I have to limit myself.

OMG that is hysterical. I love the shortbread ones. Drooling now... god, I wish I had some!!

To last until the next sale? Um, I think you might need more. ;)

Love them too!

Thin mints baby!! I can't eat them any more..but boy those were my favorite!

Satan get behind me. My hubby is allergic to those so I am forced to polish off the whole box myself. Bad, bad news

I love Samoas! They are one of my favorites and I can say that because 1) I sold those things for 11 years 2) I'm a lifetime scout and 3) I'm the cookie mom for my daughters Daisy troop.

Lori said...

Best of luck to you when it comes time to wean yourself off of them! I'm already praying about the release of Easter candy in grocery stores... this is a tough time of year! :)

Vanessa said...

Those Samoas are awesome!!! I read on someones comment that there is samoa ice cream?????? I need to move to a bigger town.....maybe one with a WalMart!! OR maybe its better that I dont have access to it..........

Alexia said...

15 boxes is not enough! Buy more! LOL

Mama SeWELL said...

MMMMMMMMMM Samoas! They have Edys Samoas ice cream (here in FL anyways) and its just as good and addicting as the cookies. My advice is to NOT buy any!....unless you want to eat the whole tub at once! And PS dont tell your hubby about the ice cream, mine decided he wanted to join my girl scout party. My reply "Dont you have some knots to learn how to tie or somethin?" Then I guess I HAD to share!

Sarah said...

Those are my favoite also...
I only ordered 2 boxes tho. When I get them I just keep eating them til they are all gone.

His Doorkeeper said...

Those are my favorites. I have never known the name of them but I could eat a WHOLE box very quickly!

I always thought if any cookie company could make them available all year long they would be successfully rich!

They came to our door and I ordered more then I care to admit. I need an intervention too.

Those are my favorites too! Yum!

Not to be redundant or anything but those are my favorites too! The only thing holding me back this year are my braces. Dang it!

I love GS cookies, I don't have girls but I got nieces so I have a direct supplier. I put my order in before anyone else.

I do love those. They tie with Thin Mints for me, but I'm afraid Thin Mints win out if they've been in the freezer.

Yeah, my 10-year-old is selling. We've bought "just" 14 boxes for ourselves, and another 20 to sell at church (and give proceeds to the church).
