What a Zoo!

We took our kids to the zoo this past weekend. It was our toddler's first visit.

I learned 4 things while there:

1. It's a great place for lost & found (giant, daunting Orangutan behind glass is real).

2. Christmas card pictures may be challenging.

3. Self Esteem can be directly affected.

On the heels of a fresh new haircut, I was flattered by a couple of women who approached me and asked to take a photo of my sassy 'do.  I posed for 3 shots. Because I am that vain.

I nearly kissed them.

4. I hope these are the days my kids remember.

LOL! Why is it that any photo op that gets declared a possible "Christmas photo" results in an immediate photo failure??

LOVE your sassy do!

loved that last line... I hope these are the days my kids remember... looking back on my childhood, I think it is. They remember the quality times and the funny moments and the stuff you go out and do together.

very fun times for sure!

So that Ice tea shedding pounds cause you look a lot smaller in that pose? Or is it that very sassy cut?

I'll second that about the Christmas photos. I was hoping to get one today at the park with the real train engine that kids can climb all over. Trying to get both of mine at the same end of the train at the same time was tricky enough, but there was some magical phenomenon that drew 15 other kids to that same spot any time I had both of mine in place and the camera out. If I want to use any of those pics I'm going to have to get really good with Photoshop to get rid of the girl in the turquoise poncho tucked into the front of the train or the other turquoise girl who just seemed to want to be in our picture even when I was bold enough to ask her to take one step back to get just the boys.

I might just have to plan a couple more outings before the end of the month to get something usable.

Ah well, Christmas photo or no, I know they will ALWAYS remember getting to climb in, on and around a real train engine at the park.

Love your new do! How flattering that people wanted your picture! I love how your daughter is looking up at you in that last photo. She seems to adore you. :) And I know what you mean about the Christmas photo...it almost never works out, right?

I'll bet your kids will remember these days forever.

Dont you just love the zoo. My favorite part is that it keeps the kids intrigued for longer than .01 seconds. Great post. I think its time for us to make a trip to the zoo now.
Oh and I am digging the new 'do!!

I love the 'do too. A few years ago, someone from church cornered me to take a pic of my sassy 'do. It was awesome.

That hasn't happened in awhile. I think I need to get sassy again...

You are lucky--yesterday a woman asked me if my hair was "all real." What? How asks that to a stranger?

We love the zoo. We went to the Los Angeles zoo back in December and then we went to the New Orleans zoo in July. We enjoyed them both.

As for the kids....they will remember but you have to believe me they'll also remember those times you looked at them and went "oh no"!!!! LOL

Hey. Show us your new 'do. Actually, my post today is all about a new hairdo. Come help me pick one.

Also, sent you an e-mail, but I think the spam monster ate it. E-mail me at jmlsdi3 at yahoo dot com about your ad rates. I'm interested.

Hysterical! I love it... can we get a full head-shot of the sassy new do?

I second the "need to see the full head shot of the new sassy do".

I am also so jealous that you are wearing short sleeve shirts and I can see the sun shining. It is cold and rainy here in MO!

Fun pics! How wonderful to have people take pics of your hair - did you start doing a "model walk" and poses for the rest of the time at the zoo? :)
