DIYP#23 Painting Pumpkins

Painted Pumpkins

My pumpkin love does not end on Oct. 31st. Actually, my favorite part isn't cutting into them. I leave that to my kids and hubby. I keep a few extra pumpkins around until Thanksgiving or until they are squishy.  Whichever comes first.

I love the idea of painting on them.  I found some neat ideas:

white and black painted pumpkin on stand

welcome pumpkin

These are spray-painted gold. Wouldn't these look lovely as a centerpiece?

Golden Gourds

Here's my attempt:

I love those ideas! I may have to pick some up to paint, though I was thinking of going straight from Halloween into Christmas. I mean, Wal-Mart does it, so why can't I?

Great idea, we didn't carve any. I know, bad mom, huh? But the thougth of TEACHING my little guy how to cut anything with a knife is just scary. I love your ideas and can't wait to put the welcome one on my front porch display.

We didn't do any this year, unless you count at work. :-( But, I really hate that they seem to disappear on Nov 1.

Very nice!

I haven't tried painting them yet, but yesterday I saw a pumpkin painted as a turkey. They used leaves as the feathers. It was rather cute!

Ohh what great ideas I might have to have a go at this, since I didn't cut into mine.

Nice! You could stack painted ones for your house number too!

We've got a Cinderella pumpkin uncarved and one garden-variety one. These are some great ideas.

I don't carve them anymore, either. I make them into pumpkin souffle, pumpkin bread, or pumpkin and peppers, all very yummy and sooo good for you.

I wish I had thought of the last one. Our pumpkins are sitting on the kitchen counter right where my husband put them when he brought them inside a few days ago after our pumpkin patch visit.

They didn't get carved, painted or even petted.

I love the gold ones too

I love the first ones! I also love your monogrammed one. I let the kids paint some and they are pretty unusual :)

By the way I don't think I told you I like your layout. I just noticed there are little seaturtles on it. :)

Okay, now I have to get the one lonely pumpkin we have by the front door and paint it!

Nice pumpkin! I saw something like this in the Southern Living book I was looking at yesterday! Now I wish I have some leftover pumpkins to paint!
