Oh, my goodness, that's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time! It's so funny what we moms can come up with!

Patented?? I've been doing that with French fries for years! :) Great minds think alike.

What if a bug lands on it? Is that like seasoning??

I don't have kids at home anymore, but that idea works for just about anything that is too hot while you are driving down the road. Did it with fries the other day. Love it. Jackie

Forgot to say love the fall decor. I am getting ready to amongst preparing for this yard sale. Thanks for the reminder about the Inspired Room. Couldn't remember who was doing that. Jackie

Now THAT'S a good idea! We use the AC on high to keep our ice cream from melting to quickly!

A True mother...quick thining.

yep...I've done the same thing! True mom right there!

Along those same lines...you know where the best place to keep your little sleeve of fries in the car is? The little 'pocket' where the door handle is...the perfect size!

Dawn @ simply transparent said...

No I've already "patent" that...LOL!

On the floor, I am on the floor and my three year old is asking why are you laughing SO loud mommy?

Fan.tas.tic. I love it!

I think I'll make my kids eat fast food today just so I can try this new trick. I can't wait to see the look on my husband's face!

Rachel said...

LOL -- that's what I do everytime we're eating in the car. My husband thinks I'm nuts. VERY glad to see I'm not alone.

Anonymous said...

Been there, done that! Have never taken a picture though! TOO FUNNY!

Mandi said...

LOL! Glad to see I'm not the only one who does something like this!! Hilarious!!

ROFL!!

ROFLMBO!!!!

I've held them in front of the a/c vent before, but never thought to stick them in. INGENIOUS! =P

I couldn't stop laughing! My husband thinks I am crazy for doing this!

This is great. And I didn't even know this was a cooking blog.

Tiffers said...

Absolutely INGENIOUS! How come I never thought of that? ROFLOL

you. seriously. rock.

Lisa said...

I laughed right out loud when I saw this, but think I should be saying "oh yuck!" think of the grease stain left on the car!!! Oh I mean the gross stuff that might come out of the vent and get on the food. You are just too funny and I love how you start my day! Thanks!

Valarie Lea said...

That must be what Little Logan was doing when he crammed a corn dog in the vents in the back of my car!! Its all so clear now. :)

Anonymous said...

Further proof that you are a genius!

Jamie said...

I've never actually lodged them in the vent...Girl, you are brilliant!

Pregnantly Plump said...

Did you do the free chicken strips at Chick Fil A yesterday? We did too!

Lori said...

I love it! I'm so stealing the idea because I'm tired of burning my fingers on McNuggets. Let us know if you design a contraption for cooling fries!

Stefani said...

I am SO showing this to my husband! You are not alone in the craziness! I usually just hold them up there to cool off, but actually sticking them in the vents is awesome! Hubby makes fun of me every time he sees me do this, but I think he's just jealous that he didn't think of it first! :)

Have a great day!

Nancy M. said...

I have totally done that!

Karen said...

Our air conditioning was on the fritz. I held my son's burger out the open window for a few minutes. Same results.

Happy Mommy said...

You could warm food in the winter that way too.

These looks a lot like chick-fil-a chicken strips...am I correct? Did you by chance get them free yesterday? We have a pic posted yesterday of us enjoying our free Chick-fil-A chicken strips.

Love this idea and will def have to give it a try.

BTW I am sipping some sweet tea right now... two days in a row I've gotten it and I think I may have a new addiction!!! :-) I know you understand.

Nancy said...

HAHAHAH! That's awesome.

And bonus, you get a lovely smell (that may make you hungry) every time you turn the AC on for a few days ;)

too funny, I'll know it's you if we see your antenna that looks like a kabob.

Love it! I especially love that you took the time to get a picture of it for us to enjoy. You are a true blogger!

Rachel said...

LOL!! That's how we do it too ;-)

The Fritz Facts said...

I used to do that for Boo. I still put her hot hot food in the freezer sometimes. It is just easier then her blowing food everywhere.

All together now, "the mother of invention is necessity." LOVE it!

Tammy said...

Drats, I guess I should have patented it first?! ;-)

After all we are the mothers of invention!

I remember putting french fries in our A/C vents to cool them down for our oldest. So funny that some one else does the same thing.

Ah, thank you - no more scorched fingers as mommy shreds the chickie strips in an attempt to cool them:)

Tina said...

That is absolutely HYSTERICAL! I'm gonna remeber that one for sure! I just started reading your blog and I am enjoying it sooooo much. You crack me up!

Janis said...

Do it with fries all the time...can't tell you the number of fries that are "hiding" behind the dash! Pity the poor guy or gal that ever has to remove it! :)

I have done this! So funny...

Dee said...

was the car in motion? I would have just stuck it out the window?

Anonymous said...

I just stumbled on your blog today, I will be back. I cracked up when I saw this picture! That is how I cooled my son's (who is now 13!) chicken nuggets and french fries when he was little!!

Unknown said...
