How About a Giveaway?

We have a winner!  Congrats to Kimbrah!  Check your email!  Thanks for commenting and visiting. And thanks to The Rocking Pony for the giveaway!

I think I've made it pretty clear on this blog o' mine that I don't want my kids to grow up.
Too quickly.  And then there are days, I'm looking at boarding schools.

I'm just saying.

They make me laugh.  They make me cry.  They make my world a sunny place.

As much as I want to slow down time, I must admit that I'm glad we're out of the teeny tiny baby stage.  I loved my newborns, don't get me wrong, but I'm thankful they all sleep thru the night and are on solid food.  You know?  It takes me a good year to feel normal again after the birthing.

I mean, honestly, after I had my babies, I was one of those moms who was disheveled, leaking breast milk, and just trying to get thru the moment.  The whole natural process wasn't exactly natural.

We made one more baby step towards toddlerhood last week.  We went from this giant diaper bag:

To this:

This handy diaper/wipee case holds several diapers, a wipe case and it has a pocket for my wallet and phone!

And we did it with the help of The Rocking Pony, an adorable Etsy store. I discovered Karen's lovely store, through her blog.  She wrote the most amazing post about the birth of her fourth child who has Down's Syndrome.  Her honesty touched me.  And I could relate to her.

She is a super talented seamstress and designs incredible one-of-a-kind shirts.  Just look at this one that I'd like to get for my son.  And I love that one for my daughter.

The Rocking Pony has generously offered to create an amazing shirt for a reader.  Go and look around here, come back and leave a comment with what you liked or what you'd like Karen to design for you (she can do ANY size shirt)!

Comments will be closed on Saturday evening at 10 pm (CST). Please leave only one comment.

Wow - she is very talented! I'm looking for a shirt for my daughter to wear on her 4th bday, so the "I'm this many" one in 4t is awesome. I'm also inspired by your diaper bag conversion and can't wait to do the same!

Oh those are just so cute! My boys are really into Medieval nights right now. My oldest son is going to be 5 next month and he wants a knight birthday party. I was thinking about getting him either the Vikings or Gauls from the Playmobil sets because we have most of the regular knights. Some kind of knight shirt in 5T or 5/6 would be totally cool! What a talented lady!

Thank you so much for hosting this lovely contest!

Those shirts are cool. I would love one with butterflies. I love butterflies!!

Hey, I hope to enter the giveaway later, but I wanted to let you know that I tagged you in a Meme, if you want to stop by and see it...

CUTE! I know my S would have a hard time choosing between the butterfly and the ice cream shirts. I like the Earth and Flower power ones as well.

Even though I don't have a baby, I really really like the fall floral chanel baby blanket!

I could always put it up for a grandbaby, that I better not get for at least 5 more years. :)

What a cute idea! For a girl, the I Want An Ice Cream Cone shirt is adorably "sweet". For a little man, the Peek-A-Boo monster shirt is fun, and not a bit scary!

I love the I'm With The Band shirt. My son would flip out for this!

That earth one is adorable to, my eco-concious eight year old who turns lights off in our house all the time to save energy, would love it.

Although I'm not inclined to encourage her at this point. I got an "earth ticket" for idling the van for too long the other day.

I like the mushroom shirt. My son would like that; it's Mario and Luigi like!
If I could have one designed just for him, it would be a piano!
Beautiful creations!

She makes some awesome stuff!

Oh, I *need* one of those essentials bags! I'm sick of stuffing diapers in my purse - they're so cute!

I'd love that "My Tunes" shirt for my 3yo. Very cute! Great giveaway!

I'd want the princess crown shirt, of course! But I want it for ME.

I like the "i'm this many shirts". This reminds of my childhood and the unique clothes my mom purchase called Chocolate Soup.

Cute.

That 'HUNK' shirt is too cool!! And I am thinking about ordering the 'Im One' shirt for my friend's son. Great gift ideas!

I definitely need the one with the drum set for my 3 year old son. He "drums" on everything. I tell him all the time he better grow up and make a lot of money doing that and take care of his momma, if I have to put up with it now.

What a great giveaway idea!

I ADORE Karen's stuff. My daughter wears the shirt she made her the second she notices its come out of the wash.

the crab shirt!!! For my 4 year old!

Great giveaway! I love etsy and just added this to my faves! I love the hunk shirt but my son would really like the guitar one. He's slightly obsessed with playing "Mochin-tar" which is the combination of remote control and guitar. He's 3. And his older uncle loves guitar hero. So, we'd have to do the guitar shirt!

I just posted my own bloggy giveaway from etsy! Check it out!

Kari said...

i LOVE THE guitar shirt! So so cute. Thank you!

How about something for my Airman Shmoopy with a wiener dog and an airplane? Or on an airplane? He is often homesick and misses his dogs. A shirt would really be a great pick me up!

very cute stuff--to have such talent!!! I would like a really cute shirt for my daughter's first birthday, which is coming up in August!!

angela said...

Wow! What talent! I'm a wee bit envious of her creative juices :o) Anyway, I am loving the "tired little robot" shirt. If I won I'd send it to a guy and his daughter in CA. He's got an amazing story...his blog, mattlogelin.com, is captivating. Anyway, he loves robots. Thanks for the chance to win.

Andrea said...

Wow those are too cute. I would go with...I think either the guitar or dinosaur or maybe I would just let little one choose. Congrats on the transfer to small bag!

Tammy said...

What a talented lady. I mean, I don't think I could iron anything to the front of a shirt!

I really like the dog shirts. We are a HUGE dog loving family here and have a 12 1/2 year old lab. It would be neat to see her design a black lab shirt for my kids!

BTW, I am glad we are past the diaper stage and both kids are in elementary school. But I now want them to stay this age. :-)

Anonymous said...

I love her blog, too.

My boys are older (10, 8,6) and LOVE Star Wars.

My daughter is 13 and loves our Beagles.

Any of my kids would really enjoy one of Karen's shirts.

Oh man. My husband is a musician and my almost three year old loves to play all of his instruments. If she had the Rock On, Girl shirt she would feel (and look) so cool. Also, I don't know if Karen does this, but we also love the tutu look, so if she would sew some tulle or something down at the bottom of the tee to make it a tee/tutu it would be even more of a favorite for my girl. Thanks for the opportunity to dream and win!

Cassandra said...

I would totally love one of those essentials bags. And I love the boston terrior shirt. Any of them...she does some very cute stuff. Precious. Adorable.

I like the name badge shirt. My daughter Natalie (middle child of 5 kids total) gets so many hand-me-downs, I would love to have it for her! :)

I love the My Tunes shirt, but in girl colors...Boo can't be without her music. Wonder where she gets that from.

Thanks!

I like the ice cream cone shirt, but I think a pretty pink blanket for a gift for a new baby girl would be pretty awesome too.

Cute stuff! My niece would like the princess crown shirt (size 6). I'd really like to get one for Snow White, but she now prefers Anne Taylor Loft. Go figure!!

gina said...

I like the I'm this many t-shirt but I'd really love a custom name shirt for Shaye or Mackenna- they'd love having something personalized but their names aren't common enough to find in stores.

Anonymous said...

I like the peek-a-boo monsters best.

I've been trying to figure out what that is in the first picture in your header. It looks like a naked person jumping in a puddle, but you don't strike me as someone that would put a naked person in her header.

Amanda said...

love all of them!!!I really like the Im 2 one for Ethan and the crab one for our summer vacation at the beach house. and Madeleine loves the ice cream cone one! those are all too adorable. ooooo and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the minky blankets

Wow--I can't choose just one. Perhaps a guitar shirt, for one of my girls or one of my boys. Or the drum shirt. Or the Beautiful Butterfly. I just don't know.

ADORABLE! Those are great! I can do simple sewing but still haven't quite figured out how to do that without frayed edges and such...

I'd like one with a fleur de' lis on it. I grew up outside of New Orleans and miss it a lot. It's the symbol of New Orleans and now the symbol of regrowth and hope. One made out of some neat fabric would be fun!

Third, love that you're giving stuff away! Bonus! I LOVE the rocking pony--so glad you introduced us! I would have a heck of a time choosing, but would probably go with the I'm this many (4) shirt for my youngest who will be 4 in August (*sigh*) or the Boston Terrier t-shirt in memory of our little Larry, who we had to put down last fall.

Can't wait to read more from you!

With so many awesome designs to choose from, how you can you love just one? I really love those back pockets since my daughter is at an age when she doesn't need a whole diaper bag. But that guitar tee is right up my alley too. I could go on and on!
