Last summer, my siblings and I surprised our parents with a 40th Anniversary party. I snuck into my parents attic, found my mother's wedding veil and put it on her when she walked into the party. I have never seen her smile so broad, giggle so freely or kiss my Dad so much. It is a night I will never forget.
Thank you Mom, for marrying Dad 40 years ago. Thank you for teaching me perseverance. You have lived your life to be my mother, making sacrifices along the way. I hope 26 years from now, when my children celebrate this milestone with me, I look just like you: Happy.

aww how sweet is that!
Your mom is beautiful! I hope I live long enough for my kids to rise up and call me blessed just like you have done!
You are priceless...and funny...and smart...and a darn good floor mopper.
Tis cool to be your blogging friend.
Sigh,
Becky the maid.
Beautiful shot - great choice! Very sweet.
Thank God for our moms right?
That is so great! I think that was an absolutely brilliant idea! And that your mother was filled with such joy is even better!
Your mother is lovely!
What a great daughter you are. You can just see the happiness in her face too in this picture.
P.S. I gave you an award :)
What a grand picture!
I am so happy for you and the milestone your family celebrated. My mother REFUSED to allow us to have a 50th wedding anniversary party. It saddens me so much for my dad wanted one badly. What an accomplishment and how sad to not honor it. But we did go to Alaska on a cruise instead!!! So I forgave her!
She looks so very happy!
What a great legacy! Congrats mom/dad!!
Fabulous picture.
Awww thats great :)
awe! She looks as giddy as a school girl. Great pic!
Wow! I can really see the joy. I love pictures like that.
She looks so happy! Look how cute she looks under her veil.
My kids break out the monstrosity that is my 90's veil at our anniversary party, I will divorce their Dad just to spite them. I was a lovely bride in spite of my ridiculous taste in Bridal attire. Sheesh.

Beautiful!
From what I can tell she did a darn good job.
You can just see the joy on her face! What a sweet idea and picture!
My husband and I have celebrated 11 and that seems like a lot, until you see people who have really devoted their lives to each other for so long.
What a wonderful idea for a surprise celebration! That's neat you still had the veil.
What an awesome picture!! I hope I'm still going strong with my husband at the 40-year mark!
Ok, you gave me tears in my eyes...what a sweet story and pict! Thanks for sharing!!
