This project is so simple even my kids could do it.
{I didn't let them because I don't play well with others}
I turned these white plates:
Into Spring plates (in about 15 minutes):
With some easy-to-use, rub ons!
Here's how:
Cut out desired transfer. Center it, use credit card to rub on transfer and slowly pull back paper.
To remove, just scrape off!
I get most of my DIY ideas from magazines like Country Living and Better Homes & Garden 100 Decorating Ideas.
And that's where I discovered Hambly Screen Prints.
I love this company! Their products are unique, colorful and affordable. The pink transfer sheet I used, Out on a Limb, cost $4! Here are a couple more of my favorites:
Silhouettes, in teal, $4
Chandeliers, black $5
They also carry unique overlays and amazing vellum paper!
Hambly Screen Prints sent an amazing assortment for one lucky readers. It's a grab bag of most of the items they sell (value $40). Visit their store, mentally change your dishes for $4, and come back here and tell me what you like.
The lucky winner will be announced on Sunday.

I love the classic animals and the Twigs and Dandelions!! So fun...I am picturing all the fun I could have with these!!
Correct question would be what wouldn't I buy? Omsh.
They have so many pretty things, but honestly it was the moustaches that really got me thinking. :)
Love the sparkly silver "Sisters" sticker!
I like the Mini Vintage ones and I really like the looks of the stickers. I think I could get in all sorts of trouble on this site :) Thanks for the great idea!!!
I like the butterfly stickers and the notebooks
Oh, this is beautiful! I'm not too crafty but I do love to scrapbook, and their overlays are gorgeous.
I love all of them! Quick question... are they safe to eat off of?
I like the silhouettes in pink...but it was hard to choose a favorite!
I love your plates! My favorites are the Ahoy Matey (I have 4 boys who love all things Pirate-y) and the mod flowers... and the Out on a Limb, and the mini vintage. Those are my faves!
Jenny
How cute. I love the vintage corners. I have this great mirror that would they would be so cute on. I just might have to get some.
I'm loving the Mini Vintage rub-ons! So pretty!
What a great idea!!!
I love everything on thier site!
The vintage motifs! Yum!
Love 'em all, can't wait to try them! Fun blog...
I live in New Orleans, so I would love the black chandelier page with the fleur de lis on it. I could put one fleur de lis on each plate and totally have a new "New Orleans" set of dishes!
What a cute way to spruce up the look...especially for Spring! I love it!
Definitely the mini vintage. Although it might be overkill if I used them on everything in my home I'm thinking of.
Classic animals for plates in my daughter's room. Or your own pink birdies for me!
WOW.....I love these.
OK, so I am torn between the mod trees and the out on a limb (I have something for owls lately)....but I could also find some funny uses for those mustache ones too!
Thanks for a great giveaway!
Peace
*~Michelle~*
I'm fairly simple-notepads. I go through so many of them they are great
I love this idea, but have a question. Do these rub-ons come off? Will you take them off after spring or just save them to use another year?
There are so many crafty things that can be done with these.
Wow, what a great idea!! The mod flowers rub ons are too cute.
What a great idea! Though I am curious how easily the rub-ons will come off the plates. And if you used glass plates on top of the white ones they would look perfect for Easter dinner! I have to say when I saw the Twigs and Dandelions I said "OHHH" I just love them in the lime green!
Oh the Vellum! I am drooling! The rub-ons are great too, and and... everything!
Twigs and dandelions are my favorite!
LOVE the banners. It's be fun w/ a dry erase marker.
The mustaches are doing something for me to. It'd be fun for a murder mystery dinner or something.
Thanks for the chance!
To start with, I would use Mini Vintage in brown. Then, Twigs and dandelions......after that....who knows! There are so many nice ones to choose from. A grab bag full to try would be incredibily nice. :)
I've wanted to do that to one of my plates! Yours look so Spring-y!
Wow! Great idea and so afordable! I love the mini vintage in brown.
Love the urban chic frames, mostly because I'm about as far from chic as you can get - but there's still hope for my plates!
I so love this idea! Awesome!
On their site, my two faves are the Mod Trees in brown and the Twigs and Dandelions in black... But then, you could always be funnier and do the moustaches. That would be kind of cute, in a creepy, my-plates-might-eat-me kind of way...
what a great idea!! i love the twigs and dandelions too!! such a great idea for spring!!
Such a creative idea! What a great way to match your white plates to any holiday or season! I wonder if its food safe?
It would have to be the mini vintage. Love it.
Oh the things you could do with these!! The dandelions and twigs in green would make an awesome spring motif!!
I like the sisters one also.
The Ahoy mateys. My kdis would think that is super cool!
To answer your questions: I don't think the decals are food safe, just for decoration. But you do have to scrape pretty hard to get them off!
I couldn't limit it to just one, so here's the three I liked best: classic animals, mustaches (wouldn't it be hilarious on your plates?), and Ahoy Matey (because I like pirates).
Do I have to pick just one? I'm drawn to the woodgrain, the robots & dingbats, and the classic animal shapes. Yup, I'm all about making it fun for the kids...
Are you kidding me?!? Those are seriously cute! WHY didn't I know about this?
The moustaches look pretty fun...not sure where I would put those! I like the Out on a Limb, and Vintage Banners and Hearts...oh my!
I'll just take one of everything - ohh... I'm in trouble now that I've found their site!
I'm cracking up over your comment about not playing well with others - too funny!
Not sure why I never thought of this!!! I love the twigs. The woode grain is very cool too. Thanks! Beth
I LOVE the Silhouettes in teal because of the old fashioned sewing machine!! The sewing machine I use is from the 40's!
What a CUTE idea! LOVE it!
Definitely love the vintage proofs.
Very cool idea.
What a great idea! I like it all. The mod flowers rub ons are so cute!
I like the slim-line 2009 calendar in the rainbow motif.

I love the mini vintage rub ons! What a cute shop...
The plates are cute, cute, cute!
As far as what I would like from Hambly...where do you begin. Everything is fabulous. Love the vellum paper, love the notepads, the rub-ons are to die for!!!
EVERYTHING!
Cute idea! I love the Christmas rub ons.
I really like the "Out on a Limb" and also the "Stars" and the "Hearts." So many cool ones to choose from!

I would get the Mod Trees in teal or brown!

Love that Cherry Blossom vellum-- what fun.
Liz
I love the Bohemian, the Grandma's wallpaper, Grandpa's wallpaper, the chandelier... oh, I'm in trouble now. Bye, bye, mad money for the month!
What a fun easy project! And a free giveawal to boot.
I love the mini vintage stick ons in the pink and the black.
Holy cow! What's not to love?? I love the moustaches and the silhouettes, I would use them to decorate my daughter's mannequin...at least the silhouette ones and the moustaches I would use for a 3 stooges party I am planning!
I like them all, but I really like the Mini Vintage in pink.
These are cute, but are rub-ons durable enough for plates? If they come off if you scratch them, don't they come off when you use your knife to cut up your dinner? I'm guessing the dishwasher is out of the question, but do they survive hand-washing in the sink?
Or are these display-only plates?
Oh I like the all!! To change my dishes...the chandeliers probably, but I love the out on a limb too! But I could do something with any of them I am sure!! My son, would love the pirates!!
I love this idea! It looks amazing!
~Dawn
I love the vintage letters. It would be so cool to write each person's name and then hang them on the wall.
Cool TIP! What an awesome idea for a wedding gift!
Thank you!!
Traci
I love the Journaling Bits Rub-ons. Cause...ya know...if I HAD time to scrap I would use them!
I like Twigs and Dandelions and vintage Christmas. Maybe I'll go out searching for some white plates at Goodwill. This is too cute and easy, even for craft-impaired people like me!
Jessie
Oh, this is too fun! I want to get the elegant labels to put on paper cups when we have a large group of people over. Thank you for this inspiration and for giving me another site to bookmark, lol...Also, I have used that paper before for fun placemats by covering it with clear contact paper.
I love the Mod Trees and Out on a Limb rub-ons. I would love to combine both of them for a fun outdoorsy motif!
The mustaches are absolutely hilarious. I also like the Mod Trees!
Wow, amazing transformation! I really like the Twigs and Dandelions rub ons!
-Stacy (slwilkins05@yahoo.com)
Do I have to choose one?
Mustaches, robots, twigs and dandelions, out on a limb, pirates...
Don't you think that would be a cool mash-up?
[crickets chirping]
Hello? Is this think on?
Love the twigs & dandelions-too cute! sylviarj at yahoo dot com
Wow! So much to choose from. I like the Vintage Christmas among others. Thanks!
Since I'm from Louisiana, I NEED (see the need, not the want? LOL) the Fleur de Lis! ;)
those look like GREAT fun!
Oh my gosh!!! Those are so awesome!
I really like their vellums and papers.
Wow, even I could do this. So cute.
My fave were the Mini Vintage rub ons. So darling!!! I am just in awe of such a cool idea. My plates will love me :)
Thanks :)
LOVING the chandelier transfers! So many multiple ideas! Craft overload :)
Thank you for posting this. I have seen these in scrapbooking magazines but didn't know where to get them. I lvoe the classic animals. I am thinking of some pretty cool decor for my kids playroom.
I like the vintage letters, I think they would look very shabby on vintage containers in the kitchen or in the bathroom over some french glass containers for soaps etc.Very cute website, hope I win them jajaj.
Shira
I got excited as soon as I saw the chandelier rub-ons - they'd be perfect on something hanging on the well in my daughter's room which we are in the process of redecorating to a black/white/aqua chandelier theme!
Oh, my goodness!! Waaaayyyy too many good choices there. I do love the Victorian Motif - I have all white porcelain plates and can see repeating that motif around the edges of certain pieces to give them some oomphf!
Thanks for sharing such a great find!
Jennifer
I like the Vintage Frames because they give me ideas.... good ones.
I love anything with bird cages and/or chandeliers!!!
I LOVE the vintage motif-
bird cages make me think of my Grandma and how much she would have loved to create with these!
I love the antique frames. You come up with the most interesting ideas!
So cute!!!
Besides some of the sets you shared, I also like Twigs & Dandelions... and some of the alphabets.
Great idea!
What a great way to update plates! I love the animals and the ones you showed.
Ahhh...So many that i love!! I think that the Rub Ons are a great idea!! I love the Halloween ones alot because we are a Halloween family all year long.

I would definitely hook myself up with the Mod Trees. They would look fabulous on my collection of vintage Fiesta! The orange, yellow, and lime would so go with the colors.
You make my heart sing because I think I could actually do that one. Darling job.
What a great idea! I use rub-on's to scrapbook and never thought of this before! :-) Love it!
How clever and cute!
I love the mod trees. So cute... and what a great idea.
the kids would have fun with the classic aniamls and the dingbats & robots

I love the rub-ons!!
Love this! Great idea!
What a fun thing to do with my daughter. My favorite rub-on was the green trees. Would look great in my lime green sunroom:)
Okay I went straight to the rub-ons on their site. I LOVE the vintage ones and the wings. There's just way too much to choose from!!!
These are gorgeous! Thanks for leading us to them! :)
I love the rub-on's: Mini Vintage, Twigs and Dandelions, Vintage Motifs and Vintage Corners, but most of all the Vintage Letters! But seriously, they're all great! I can easily think of a use for all of them!
~Karla @ It's The Little Things...
That is SO beyond cool! I love it! I had to go look (it's all your fault, you made us .... lalalalala ... and that is exactly what I am telling dh when he sees my bill, lol!).
I am totally in love with the Twigs and Dandelions, they are so me. But I also think the seasonal ones rock too. And just think, I really do not have anything to put these on so if I win (or place my order) I will also have to go out and buy stuff for these prints. How cool is that? Oh, I am loving this!
Cheers, Kiy
I'm loving everything; especially the 'out on a limb'. I'm really diggin' owls right now.
Love this idea!
Hurray! I'm all for the mini bicycles in red (but I also love the twigs and weeds!)
I love the new fashion of the smaller square plates. My home is done in vintage italian charm and I love the idea of using the Vintage Corner rub ons to create gorgeous, unique designs that will showcase well. This is a great post, thanks for turning me on to Hambly!
Cute idea! Never thought of doing something like that... then again, don't have room for a china hutch..Bummer! I'd have to try it :)
