We have a winner! Thanks everyone for joining in the fun and for being patient with Mr. Linky! Congrats to Twice Blessed Mommy! You now own an adorable 'Mom' swatch watch!
This is a special post-hurricane edition and in honor of surviving Ike, today I am hosting a very special giveaway to remind you of the fun-loving 80's. This great eBay store is offering one of the linkers today an awesome SWATCH WATCH! ($65.00 value). She actually sent me the special 'mom edition' Swatch to mail to a winner and it is fabulous! Before you link up, hop over there and look around Sue's great store and tell me what you like.
Before we left, we tried to clean up our yard a little.
Our kids even got in on the action. And because I am ruining this show from an iPhone and a farm, I am sharing recent photos. But let's be honest, I will never get around to scrapbooking them.
Give your kids a rake, six inches of hurricane debris and it will provide hours of fun!

WOO HOO! I am so glad you made it here this week. I mean, what in the world would I do with no Thursday 'Fro carnival?! ;-)
And a giveaway to boot. I am not ashamed to tell you that I have my original swatch watch in my jewelry box. It's in great shape, just needs a new battery.
Glad you are safe!
O... M... GOSH... I loved my Swatch like Paris Hilton loves her latest puppy. It was the "Green Room" Swatch and I'm kicking myself for not buying it again when I saw it on eBay a few months ago. I have no clue what happened to my old one.
I'm so glad you're able to post today... I have a really great fro post up from 1989 and I wanted to link to it. Mister Linky is GIANT, though... not sure if that's just on my end.
Good luck on the evacuation. :) We got to evacuate in 2004 and 2005 and it was sorta fun. Heh. The yard clean up was not so much fun, though.
Very glad to be here- as always. BUT mr. linky is looking a little drunk tonight...I will twitter you too.
Swatch watches! What fun!! Thanks for taking the time out of your crazy week to let us link up to our favorite carnival and to top it off your giving away a prize... you really are the coolest ever!
looks like the kids "jumped" right into it!
LOL!
Kristen, so glad to see you here tonight too. Decided to link my Hurricane Ike pics & stories too.

Your lettering size is huge. Isn't it a pain to blog away from home! :)
What big links you have my dear!
That happy hippo Swatch is the coolest! Oh how Swatch's take me back. Those were the days. :)
Whoa Mr. Linky....you do appear kinda drunk. I hope you don't start talking too loud and making inappropriate gestures!
I am so glad Ike didn't affect your blog too much. I don't know what I'd do without my daily dose of THAT family. Especially Thursdays yo :) I love the picture of your hubby with the baby on his back. That is where my youngest prefers to be.
So glad you are still able to host this-we would all miss it so much. Thurs. just would not be the same.
Wow, I never did see kids cleaning and smiling all at the same time!
Lovin' the Rose watch.
I've never had a Swatch Watch, but I have had those bracelets. I like the Happy Hippo one! So colorful and fun!!!
You see, I was born in '85 so I was YOUNG in the 80's. Not old enough to have a Swatch Watch... *pout* Feeling sorry for me yet? *pout*
I'm so glad your hubby was raking up leaves, not trying to figure out how to get a 300 year old oak tree out of the attic! And I think your kids and mine were separated at birth - mine would have been doing the exact same thing!
I'm digging the Lady Rose Madam watch...very cute!
I'm happy that you're still posting, despite the circumstances! :)
Very cool Give away! I like the Happy Hippos followed by Margurite.
I am glad that you and yours are all fine after the wrath of IKE. I have wondered if there were any bloggers that were badly effected (I have come across one who has lost everything and I am sure there are plenty more). I have wondered what we could do, as a 'blogging community'. Everyone seems to think that donations to the Red Cross is the way to go.
Very glad that you all are OK.
Jen
Thank goodness everything is okay with you and your family, and for iPhones.
As always, thanks for hostessing.
I used to have a pink Swatch that smelled like strawberries!
I LOVE the Scottish Plaid one in the ebay store! It's adorable!
Glad y'all are alright. Wouldn't it be easier if all us bloggers could come out and help you rake the mess!??
I do not have a blog, but follow you everyday reading your antics. I love the ink-drop watch.
Glad the kids could get back to some fun! The Swatch takes me back.. boy I loved my Swatch Watch! I wore that thing till it fell apart ;-)
I was never cool enough to have a Swatch Watch growing up, so I love the prize! I think the Marguerite is very cute!
I LOVED Swatch watches! I never had one, but my cousin had three and we used to all take turns having them for a week. I have to say my favorite one in this ebay store is "Hapy Hippo". What's not to love about a happy hippo!
I love the Sari Beautiful swatch! I love Swatches!!
My kids have "jumped in" after hurricanes here in FL too. Our biggest hit @ home was Frances in 2004. Life was fun once dh figured-out how to hook-up the generator to the well!
We have family in TX. All y'all have been in our prayers!
As for the watch: "pick me! pick me!" :-)
Omgawsh! Haven't thought about a swatch in ages. LOVE that Rose one. Cool ebay store!
I'm glad you guys didn't have anything catastrophic happen to your place! Praise God!!
What a fun giveaway! I love the Skin Evensun swatch in her store!
Thanks :-)
Let me also add- I was out of my usual blogland reading for almost a week due to the busiest time ever- and I am just now catching up on you and your hurricane troubles. I am glad you made it up here to OK and are now OK, though back to clean-up (yuck). I have a few other Houston area friends who made their way up here too- and then there are some I haven't heard from yet! What a mess...I do hope it might be clear for awhile.
Hope you all are doing ok, hope you get to go home soon, hope you are still sane when you go home and I hope that you go home to everything being semi ok? Thinking of you!
So happy you survived IKE! So did Tina...are you too young to get that? There are a few Swatches that I like...can't decide!
Glad you made it through Ike okay - and even managed to have a little fun!
I used to have a Swatch in elementary school. I even had the "Swatch Guard" on it; you know, that little piece of colored rubber that went across the face to protect it.
I love the Happy Hippo Swatch! Hippos are my favorite animal! I also love the Marguerite, the Beaujalais, and The Retro with Rare Leather Stud Band. Maybe it's just because I like saying "rare leather stud" :)
Wow... my first ever link on another person's blog. Seriously, I hope no one actually links to my blog. I just started it this week and it's more for my own therapy. But I have loved your blog since I found it two weeks ago! It's so neat to read of a fun, wholesome family!
Kristy
I love the baby peeking out from behind your husbands back! Looks like you all are really blessed by the look of your neighborhood!
I always wanted a Swatch watch!
This may seem to be a cop-out answer, but I really do love them all. They take me back to the days of my youth :)
And I'm glad to see that you're all okay too.
Peace to you,
Heather
I had a Swatch - white band, white face with blue polka dots, red hands and a yellow second hand, from what I can recall. I had one of those rubber "guards" on it, too. went through three bands before I finally got rid of it. Judging from things on eBay, I'm sorry I did! LOL
Have you seen their dressy ones? THose are awesome.
Thanks for reminding me again about Swatch - I've spent 45 minutes shopping on eBay and the Swatch site now! LOL
Glad you were able to keep up the carnival. Take that Ike!
I had no idea there were so many Swatches. I remember wanting one so bad, and I remember how cool they were, but all those different designs? Wow. I love the DISQUE ROUGE one. Of course there are so many that I'm enjoying looking through.
Blessings to your family as you clean up the muck.
Okay I have to say taht I LOVE the Scottish tweed Swatch and the Jazz Festival Swatch. Sooo RETRO!! I miss having Swatches. I wish they'd bring them back again!!
So glad that your house is okay & you guys are safe.
I'm just glad y'all are safe... although, who are we all kidding: Texans are practically indestructible!!!!
I LOVE the till the butterflies Swatch, this sure does take me back!
:) Heather S.
I just blogged the pictures from my 20th reunion last night!! Tried to post a fro' picture of a group of friends, with no luck. Will try again!
I love Swatch Watches - had a pink and green one. Probably in my jewelry box now.
Checked out the Swatch site - I like the butterfly one. Hope to win!
Happy 80s!
I love your blog. Please go to my blog and retreive your award. ang
Blessings to you! Glad you are seeing the light of day. Somewhat.
Here's my first "fro me to you' that was fun. What a story. Have a good weekend.
Am sure there will be many DIYP to come due to Ike.
WooooooHoooooo!! Yeah for me!!! Thanks for picking me girl.. Today is my lucky day. It's the 19th and the kids are 19 months....it's their golden month birthday!!
