SECRET Red Plate GIVEAWAY (for newsletter readers!)

*Updated with Winner* Congrats to Jerralea! You won!

I have a red plate-given to me by a family member years ago. I LOVE IT. I love how it makes my family members feel special when I serve them dinner on their birthday or if they need a little boost of encouragement.

Christian speaker, Sue Heimer, is giving one of these special plates (value $32.75) to one of my newsletter readers! Yay! I encourage all of you to start this special tradition in your family.

You can order a plate today and even get free priority shipping if you order two!

Kristen, your newsletter is such an encouragement to me! As are you. And I completely relate to your Christmas story ... my daughter will be 10 this month and while she hasn't said she knows about Santa, we feel like she does. There's a sadness there ... but we're hoping she will, like yours, join us in the fun. :)

We had one of those plates growing up--I loved it and my mom let me take it to school when we had to take food in and I chipped it.

I didn't even know they make them any more!

I really enjoy reading your newsletters. Keep them coming!

I love the idea of starting this tradition with my daughter. Special days/special plates!

Red is my favorite color too!

I had a plate like this...made a cake for someone at church on it and never got it back! I loved using it on birthdays and "just because" occasions. :)

Adding my comment in order to win a plate (I'm assuming the other comments are remnants from your first post and that I'm not getting this totally wrong!)

Thanks!

I'm hoping this is the right place to comment since the others are from 2008(?). Anyway, thanks for your work to encourage others in the walk of faith! It makes me think about what my kids understand of faith. The newsletter is an inspiration! The plate would be a special treat to have as well!

We had one of these plates in our house when I was a kid. My mother never forgot to bring it our on our "special" days. My dad still uses it for the grands when they come visit. It brings back special memories that will NEVER be forgotten. :) Have a blessed day!

Our MOPS group painted plates for our craft a while back. I used the one I made for about a year, and then it broke. =( I'd love to have another special plate and resume the tradition.

I saw my first red plate about 15 years ago when I was a preschool teacher. A little girl's mom brought it so that she could have it a lunch on her birthday. I admit, I thought it was crazy. Now I'm a mom and I understand.

I don't have kids yet, but I have already planned and dreamed on having a special plate for them. This one is gorgeous!

What a wonderful idea! We have "birthday week" for each member in our family, just making them feel special their birthday week. They get sung to, at least 7 to 21 times during their birthday week. Each kid and parent feels really special.

Blessings to you,

I would love to have a tradition like this in our home. We never had this, but I think we would have LOVED it! :)

Sarah said...

I love this idea! It would be great to start that tradition in our family with 5 boys, we often don't have a lot of great conversation at our table. It would be great to get them excited about sharing what they are doing at school and wanting to be the one to get voted to use the plate each night. Thank you for offering the giveaway and for sharing the idea! :)

I have always wanted one of these! My family never made a big deal out of much of anything in our lives growing up. I want that to be different in my future family's life. That would be neat to help in making people feel special!

Jerralea said...

I love the idea of a "special plate"! I have done this when my kids were little, but not recently. (I never had a real "special plate.") Anytime you can celebrate someone's achievement, you definitely make a memory.

I've been wanting one of these. Today is my foster daughter's (soon to be permanent daughter) 11th birthday and her first with Mama Mia and me. I wanted her breakfast to be served on this plate but I wasn't sure where to find one in my area by the time I thought of it.

I have wanted one of these since the first time I saw them!

Kristen, I am so glad to read about the Santa incident and how it was all worked out. I was feeling such upset about my oldest knowing but believing is the most important thing. Thank you for reminding me of that.

Thanks for the chance to win the plate as well. It sounds like a wonderful thing to make a special event even more special.

My neighbor had one of those plates when I was growing up. I always thought it was so neat that my friend got to eat off of that plate when it was her birthday, or when something special happened at school, or for whatever other reason her mom made up. I would love to have one to be able to start that tradition with my daughter! Thank you so much for your wonderful blog!
