Guest Post; Product Review; GIVEAWAY!

*Update* Wow, ya'll like the brain games, huh?  Tells me a lot about my readers, you need stimulation!  Congrats to Lilly Pad Mom. I'll email you!  The rest of you? Go to Target, I saw the game there yesterday.

I'd like to introduce you to my first guest poster: my hubby  (Stay for a giveaway!)

The other day my wife called me at work, “I got an email from this guy and he wants to give us a free copy of a computer game to try and review.  It sounds cool, but they need our address.”  Well I understand my wife’s paranoia.  After all, we’ve been married almost 14 years and I kinda know what freaks her out.  She had it sent to my office and I brought it home.

It turns out the good folks at Brighter Minds Media are legit (go figure).  They were kind enough to send us a copy of their new game Brainiversity.

Brainiversity

Since my wife owns a mac and I have a pc, I told her I would be happy to play Brainiversity and review it for her.  Imagine that, I get to play a computer game without being told to go mow the lawn or do something productive (I have issues from my childhood).

Brainiversity is about keeping your noggin sharp, astute, and challenged all while having fun.The idea of the game is that you take a daily exam covering language, memory, math, and analysis that automatically charts your progress.  Once you establish a baseline test you can then go back and practice on your weaker areas to strive for improvement.  As you get better, new games are unlocked in each skill area, so it never gets boring.  It’s like having a personal trainer for your brain.

I had a blast taking a set of random letters and spelling as many word as possible in a minute and a half.  This is definitely not my forte, but that’s why it kept me coming back.  I wanted to get better.

So how did I do?  After about fifteen days of regularly playing the game, I improved my initial score of 75% to a respectable 90%.

Our 8 year old also really enjoyed playing this game, when I let her.  But I don't share well.

Listen ladies, take it from me, this game will make your hubby smarter!  Leave a comment for your chance to win a copy of this game ($20 value).  My wife will choose a random winner on Wednesday afternoon.

Wow! Sounds similar to Brain Age for Nintendo DS...and since I don't have a Nintendo DS...this would work great for MY brain. Okay, if I win I will share it with all of the other brains in our house. :O) Thank you!

I would love to win this for my husband. He was in an accident 2 1/2 yrs ago, while in rehab (10 months) they had him on this type of software and the improvement was incredible in dealing with his brain injury. I know that this would be an asset to anyone who feels like they are "slipping" a bit. Thank you.

Sounds like Brain Age which I've been wanting but hubby won't buy it. I guess I could buy it for myself but where's the fun in that?

Here's to hoping I win.

Too bad it doesn't work on Macs! We just converted the last computer we had over to a Mac, so now we are a Mac only family.

We bought my Dad a Nintendo DS and the brain age game for his birthday. He normally doesn't get to play it because we all play it. :)

My granddaughter and I play Brain Age on her DS but this would really be great for my Honey who is recovering from a stroke. He says he's had enough of rehab but he does love to play cards on his computer ... maybe this could get him moving forward!

We love brain games around here! Is there any other way to keep a mommy brain sharp then to get on the computer and Play? I would love to get that for our family. If we don't win the drawing can you tell us where we can buy one?

Joy said...

Thanks, Mr. THAT Family!!! How wonderful! I feel like I need this game so if I don't win I may have to buy it. Since having kids I feel like my brain has turned to mush. Sitting at home, folding laundry and changing diapers all day can take a toll on one's memory and brain activity!

Thank you for this opportunity to win! Sounds interesting, even for us older folk! :)

This would be nice! I always tell my daughter that I'm going to get Brain Age Academy for the DS. The only glitch is that I'd have to play it on her DS. She's never happy about that. OH! The gratefulness and goodwill toward all that abounds in this family of mine . . . . . it brings a tear.

Sounds like fun...my hubby doesn't need the brain-sharpening, I do! Count me in for the drawing! :)

We could all use a little sharpening up of our minds.

I sometimes have to remind myself that my brain was once use for something besides calculating the unit cost of diapers and how much XYZ needs to be given to one kid to make it perfectly FAIR for everyone!

I could use some good brain-sharpening! Thanks for the opportunity - what a fun surprise giveaway :)
